"No joke: Amy Poehler's leaving Saturday Night Live.

According to the Los Angeles Times, she tells the new issue of Men's Vogue that she is taking a break after the November election as she prepares to welcome her first child. And she won't be returning after maternity leave."

I kinda thought this was a given because of the Office spin-off that's not an Office spin-off.

Wait, wait, wait. There's a magazine called 'Men's Vogue'?

I hope I'm not the only one to say finally. Its incredibly sad that she's the a-list talent on the show.

It was hard for me to accept that people like Adam Sandler are considered A list on SNL, but I find Amy Poehler funny. I loved her on Upright Citizens Brigade more, though.

Amy Poehler's alright. Kaitlin Olson is WAY more funny.

And besides, she is in like every movie. I'm surprised she didn't quit before.

This is a pretty big hit for SNL, but not an unforeseen one. Hopefully they have a contingency plan already lined up to cover for the fact that at this point Poehler is around 90% of the show.

You mean in terms of quantity? I don't agree with that. Wiig is the MVP in terms of quantity. Quality is debatable, obviously.

It's both. Wiig has had a few busy nights, but more consistently Poehler is the one out there for the whole show. Quality, I'd say that Poehler runs rings around the current cast (although the new guy is getting serious buzz from people I know around that scene in New York), except for maybe Wiig...but her characters are starting to bleed into each other a bit and it shows on the afore-mentioned busy nights.

I don't think you get improvisational sketch comedy if you don't think Poehler is an A-list talent in the field.

Wiig can just go away already with her same characters over and over that are never funny.

Wow. Strongly disagree. She brings the highlights weekly, IMO.

I'm with you, man. I think Amy Poehler hates the sound of laughter.
