You know how all kinds of comics and TV shows and DVDs and books and movies and porn stars and books and food items are mentioned in wordballoon. And you are like ...aw, yeah. I will check that out!
But by the time its done, you can't remember what it was.
Ok, well, then you come to this thread and find it here.
But, in order for this to work......any time you DO remember something, you have to come here and post up the information.
Like this, I was just listening to the one about The Book of Lies, so here (http://www.thebookisreal.com/) is some stuff about it.

Oh hell yeah, I constantly try to go back and find random things that I wanted to check out but never could find. From the recent Tapes...
Flaxem by Bendis & Mack, a comic for Golden Apple Comics. I have to buy this!
A Travel Channel special on Marvel's New York? I wish I caught this.
Charlie Jade (http://www.scifi.com/charliejade/), Canadian South African show on Sci-Fi. Caught it, good episode!
Jason Shiga's Bookhunter (http://www.shigabooks.com/), I'm definitely buying this.

"The Banshee" is a teleplay Ray Bradbury wrote as a mocking sort of revenge jab at John Huston for the practical jokes and tough love Ray got while writing the script for Huston's Moby Dick film adaptation

I don't know about a Travel Channel special but maybe it has something to do with the book 'The Marvel Comics guide to New York City' by Peter Sanderson. ifanboy also did about a 30 minute show based on this book as well.

maybe, but I was specifically referring to this TV show from last year
TRAVEL CHANNEL TO AIR MARVEL GUIDE TO NYC
As reported in CBG #1567, cable television's Travel Channel has put
together an HDTV hour devoted to comic books.
Travel Channel describes its Marvel Super Heroes' Guide to New York
City, "Since the 1930s, New York City has been the home of comics and
their creators. Follow the thrilling exploits of Spider-Man and his
comic book cohorts while revealing the real-life New York landmarks
that inspired their stories."
Discovery Channel Creative Executive Karen Kraft has a lifelong love
of comic books and, thanks to the enthusiasm and inspiration of Travel
Channel General Manager Rick Rodriguez, developed with co-producer and
co-writer Molly Hermann a project for the Travel Channel that will
provide the public with a new approach to viewing of the city -- and
the art form. The project is the result of extensive High-Definition
TV taping in the city at the end of last year.
The show will air Sunday, Aug. 15, at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time,
with a repeat at 11 p.m.
Check out http://travel.discovery.com/ for more information.

I'm sure it's well known in the Brubaker camp but they talked about Blast of Silence (http://www.amazon.com/Blast-Silence-Collection-Allen-Baron/dp/B0012Z363A/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1221006969&sr=8-1) on one of the interviews. Great crime movie!
And the Criterion version has swanky Sean Phillips art.

John, you mentioned an NPR show on your Bendis tapes (maybe part 3?), but I'm too lazy to go back and try to find it again. A show about the movie business? It sounded really interesting (especially since I'm a major NPR junkie when I'm not busy trying to catch up on podcasts...)
Little help?

Saw Wristcutters - A Love Story (http://www.amazon.com/Wristcutters-Love-Story-Shannyn-Sossamon/dp/B0012E2GFK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1221155076&sr=8-1) last night on Brubaker's recommendation from the time he was on with Fraction... loved it. Great little movie to watch. It's not going to redefine anything but the concept is cool and it's a lot of fun to watch. Very imaginative.
Now if only they'd snuck in the Final Countdown into the movie at one point... it would have been truly mind blowing.

Ah, digging through my wishlist I remember Bendis talked about European comics he likes and recommended Nikopol Trilogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikopol_Trilogy) which was hell looking up because I couldn't figure out the spelling.
It was also made into a French movie called Immortal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_(2004)) which was pretty good. It feels like a super serious version of the Fifth Element (or the Fifth Element is a super comedic version of the Nikopol Trilogy)

On one of the past Bendis Tapes, Bendis spoke about a french comic that he enjoyed called The Killer.

John, in the first part of the new Loeb Report, Loeb talks about a comic store owner who does reviews of comics that he loves. The DNR (did not read) thing. Do you get the link to that from him, because I'd be interested to read those.

During the Gail Simone interview there was mention that Gail wrote an epiode of a Tomb Raider animation. I did some research and found that other episodes of the same series were written by some pretty cool writers such as Peter Chung (Aeon Flux creator), Warren Ellis, and even Jim Lee.
Does anyone here know if this was this ever collected on DVD? Or are the episodes available for download somewhere?

Gail's is episode 08, "Pre-Teen Raider"
