On this episode of the Word Balloon podcast, we wrap up our conversation with Brad Meltzer, who tells all about the inspirations for his latest novel, The Book Of Lies . Brad discusses the soundtrack specially created for the book, and talks about the pseudo docu-video about The Book Of Lies, featuring Brian K Vaughn, Joss Whedon, and Christopher Hitchens , among others. We go deeper into Brad's theories that writer Jerry Siegel conceived the idea of a bulletproof man called Superman, after the murder of his father in 1932. We also talk at length about Brad's goal to save the Siegel Birthplace via his auction website http://www.ordinarypeoplechangetheworld.com/.

Great interview, John. Thank you.

I like that Brad copped to the fact that this cause might be naive, and not as important as other foundations or charities, but he has such a passion for this specific cause and the ability of ordinary people.

And some of those auction items are fantastic.

damn decent of them.

i sometimes wonder what you've read before you get to interview these people, if you have any inside knowledge or if you're going in just as blind as the listener/reader

Just listened to this today. I'm really impressed with the lengths Meltzer went to in his research, and what he's doing for the Superman house. Definitely buying this book.
