There's another link in the Kotaku article, but it seems like the site is down. That character vs. screen does look beautiful as all hell, though. I'm dying to know more about this.

Is this the game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-Oc-d5AXIE) the article was talking about?

It certainly looks like it. God, that trailer just makes me want it even more. Looks like they were really going to emphasize the comic booky-ness of it all. A complete 180 from what Marvel: Nemesis was like....

Damn! I want this game!

I don't know. Given how crappy Nemesis was, I think this getting canned was probably a good thing.

I think it was Marvel that pulled out, wasn't it? Or did E.A pull out first?

Oh man.

Does anybody remember that video from G4 or something where they showed like 5 minutes of Hulk fighting? That was this game, wasn't it?

Fuck. That looked sweet.

I don't trust EA with the Marvel license.

According to This (http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/682445/Marvel_EA_Break_Up_With_Each_Other.html) link Marvel is still making the game, but without EA. Not sure how useful G4 are for this sort of thing though.

Is this the EA Chicago thing?

If so, that's a shame. It looked REALLY good. Destructible environments, etc.

And yes, Nemesis stunk.

Yeah, this is the game that EA Chicago was working on. EA closed the studio claiming that their games had no chance of profitability (same team made the Def Jam flop from a few years ago).

I wouldn't trust anything from the team that made Def Jam Icon. I own that turd, and I've only played it twice. The second time was just to verify that it really was as bad as I thought it was the first time.

You never played Fight Night Round 3, which EA Chicago made. Best fighting game i've ever played, although it is different in style compared to what the Marvel game would've been.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/03/marvel-vs-capcom-for-digital-download-hopes-marvel-exec/

In an interview with Gamasutra, Marvel's VP of interactive media
Justin Lambros says he hopes to see Marvel vs. Capcom make its way to
digital download. The main focus of the story for Gamasutra is
supposed to be about EA's new Marvel Fighting Game, but following
EA's aptly named Rise of the Imperfects, which was far beyond
imperfect, you'll bear with us as we don't get excited about that and
focus on Marvel vs. Capcom.
Lambros answers Gamasutra's questions about Marvel vs. Capcom
appearing on Xbox Live by saying, "I'm a huge 2D fighting fan ... the
Marvel vs. Capcom stuff has a definite close place in my heart, so we
definitely wanna see that stuff live on." He says that there are no
deals in place, but they may be considering it. Maybe when Capcom has
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (with a side of cole slaw)
completed, they can get to work updating Marvel vs. Capcom, let's
keep Udon working.

I'd rather see something new, than a never ending retread of the old.

Besides, without arcade joysticks, it's not the same thing.

EDIT: It sounds like he was talking about Xbox Live, not a new 2d game.

I wonder if they'll release MvC2 as a download on the networks.

And if it'll screw with the price of the physical editions.

Also: Dreamcast version > all others

Yyyyep, and here it is:

Stars off with the same CGI movie from before, but afterwards it switches to gameplay.

I own that as well, and I completely don't get what people see in that game. It's fairly shit, in my opinion.

This man is correct in his summation.

One can only hope, I'd love to snag an Xbox copy as it will play on the 360, but the price is too high for me to justify.

Putting it out on XBL would be glorious, especially if they can sneak in some decent online play.
