Hey everybody,
I really enjoyed posting here this summer. You made me laugh and feel welcome.
You're comic fans (and pros), so naturally, you've terrifically twisted senses of humor, can follow about any digression or tangent, share many of the same interests, and show a lot of potential talent yourselves.
Kudos to Brian Bendis for having a simply kick-ass board. There's a greater range of discussion, and more freedom of discourse here, than on any other comics message board on the web.
But I like to talk about my work.
And the board entices me to be forthright with opinions regarding my profession. Opinions, so far, half buried in generalities because of how hurtful it'd be to prove a point with actual examples.
I'd simply refrain from responding to professional issues if it didn't feel like holding back, reigning in. So, rather than mute my responses or bite my tongue bloody, I'm going to slide back from the table, not just here but on other boards as well.
Which will mean extra time to focus on work and family.
Again, I really had fun here. Thanks. If I meet up with one of you, let me know, it'd be a pleasure.

Whoa...that's what LITG this week was babbling about.
Pat, just come here and talk about EVERYTHING BUT comics, unless you're out to give praise to someone or something. I find it immensely rewarding and entertaining to talk politics, dvds, movies, and everyday foibles with some of the folks here. There is sharp, biting wit, glamour, sex and danger around every corner at Jinxworld. But it's best to keep professional opinions private, or amongst other professionals.
Feel like being angry or complaining about something comixwise? Keep it in the family! But there's no need to bow out of Jinxworld. That's just silly.
Your pal,
Ethan V.

I think they'll make their decision towards the hypothesis being correct soon ;)
the hypothesis that you could be dumb? (you may want to re-read EVS' post, man...)

I think you can put everyone except mods on ignore.
Now back on ignore you go. :)

Why did Tom get suspended anyhow?
After Gail took over the board, Tom tried to take over one thread at a time, posting in each thread that he was taking over the thread. It was hilarious. The MODs saw it as spamming.

for posting in bunches of threads about how he was taking over the board. he was high on medication, supposedly.

Yes. And if you take them back off, the friend request shows up again.

Just like James Brown was 'high on god' when he led several police cruisers on a chase through California and almost injured many, many people. :)

If you read his blog, he's been through hell lately. It's pretty gut wrenching stuff, though he manages to write some of it in a comical way.

Yes, and I wear short shorts in the dead of winter too!
That cartoon sucked in so many god damn ways, but it still makes me cry when Jimmy Durante sings the Frosty theme slowly over a puddle of water that used to be a friendly snowman. The reflections of past good times with that big white fat ass, smiles and cheer...sniff.
Merry Christmas.

did you name beland "oatmeal?"
yeah, that was always the least of the christmas offerings. i was always partial to "nestor the long eared donkey" for my sad christmas stories.
rudolph was good too, if only to show santa claus as a mean prick.

And Donner is a sexist asshole. But yeah, why is Santa such a bastard in that cartoon? What end storywise does that serve, his blatant hostility towards his hardworking, gay elves? You could have just as easily filled that moment with Santa appreciating his slaves rather than chastising and ignoring them.

it was a bit unsettling to watch as i got older. plus, the whole bit with the abominable snowman. i mean, they ripped out the thing's teeth, effectively leaving it unable to defend itself or properly eat food, then enslaved it to build their christmas tree.
plus the whole thing with the island of misfit toys being run by some strange winged lion thing. was he a toy, or just some bastard who took over the fucked up toys?
seriously, though, nestor the long-eared donkey? sad damn story. i mean it has its turnaround near the end, but man is it depressing up til then. it's like the "dancer in the dark" of christmas specials.
