What the shit?
Man, I've been away from these titles for a long time. I only know who 3 or 4 of those characters are.

Weird. I like certain aspects of it. But why are all four of the heroes on the left fighting just three of the heroes on the right? No one is bothering with the girl Human Torch. But I dig what they've done with Rogue and the web shooters on Kitty Pryde.

maybe this is the "fusion" aspect of marvel ultimate alliance 2

Really? All but the metal suit guy and the female human torch seem relatively obvious to me.

Something to do with Ultimatum, which we know almost nothing about right now.
Those are the X-Men and FF of the future?

I'm going to guess that is the future Fantastic Four coming back to stop the future X-men from killing the Fantastic Four. At a guess ;)

That was freaking me out too, but it turns out it's just heroes teaming up (fastball specials and such), rather than the "Spider-Torch!"-type images that initial press release evoked.

Isn't the "female torch" possibly Firestar?
And I didn't pick up on Kitty or Rogue until a second look.

Thing has 4 fingers/toes. This "suit" has 5.

So we have Cap X, Wolvie, Rouge/Angel/Wolvie, Kitty with Peters webshooters?
And then Namor, The Thing/War Machine, Ms. Invisible (Reed Dead?), and Firestar (Liz Allen)?
Wow Ultimatum must be pretty fucked up.
it's amalgam again :)
looks cool actually

i would guess that brandon peterson draws all the figures separately and then puts the picture together in photoshop afterwards, so things just didnt work out.

Jeph Loeb is writing these isnt he? Or at least a couple of the "Heroes" writers?
That pretty much guarantees it will complete and utter shit.
Oh, well, at least USM is still awesome.

Yeah, I mean, I cant think of a cooler story idea than basically writing a "The X-Men take steroids/drugs and it fucks them up, but see....this isnt an actual dont do drugs kids story, cause, you know, that would be lame...so we will name the drug after a character 10 people actually gave a shit about in the MU and make it a wink, wink to the fans".
Oh, and we will have like 10 artists doing the one story arc.
Coliete didnt impress me one bit with the first couple issues of his arc and I stopped reading after the latest one. So far, I havent been greatly impressed with any of the Heroes writing staff that has jumped over to comics, at the very least they have been extremely average (the Superman/Batman team) or awful (Loeb).
And again, Jeph Loeb is involved. The man is quickly becoming the Chuck Austen of recent years, he cranks out shitty story after shitty story, but somehow still sells tons of copies despite the fact that the average story arc written by Jeph Loeb this year has been very close to being the most awful book published by DC or Marvel.
Sorry if I cant get excited about the Ultimate line again with the winning talents of Jeph Loeb and the Heroes writing staff attachted. OH BOY!!!!
I used to LOVE the Ultimate line, and I still think it can be good, but Marvel just needs to go back to what made the line so good in the first place. Good books. Ultimate X-Men has flopped because between Robert Kirkman and Aaron Coliete a consistent, good writer hasnt been on the book since BKV. Ultimate FF has flopped in part because the lack of a big name writer, but has Carey even HAD a "regular" artist on the book for the past year? Tyler "I dont copy Marc Silvestri's style even though I clearly do" Kirkham?
Just go back to what made the books so good in the first place, strong writer and artist combo's and telling good stories.
Whatever, at least Bendis is still on USM and Millar is doing SOMETHING down the line for the line. That's good.

That's... interesting.
You know, as long as they keep Kitty in USM, they can do whatever, because I can't bring myself to read anything Ultimate except for USM these days.
Although, I have to say, I am interested in the implications of Kitty using Peter's webshooters.

Just looks like a fun alternate reality story... I think people might be reading too much into it.
Captain X looks awesome, btw.
