Ok, I'm not expecting much here, but this song has been around since the late 90's. It's a light, airy samba tune with a woman's vocals in the foreground (no words). I wish I had a better vocabulary to describe it, but the beat is modern, like electronica and I still hear it used as background music at stores and stuff. Any help?

Do you remember what kind of car it was used to advertise?

Sorry. Nissan Maxima maybe. The only other clue I have is that it's on a Pottery Barn CD collection (the lameness is deafening, I know). I have 62 candidate albums I need to go through on Amazon, so I know I can find it, but I thought I'd check here first.

Wow. The Gilberto name sambas on!

Except... what part of Bebel Gilberto's rendition has vocals without words?

I'm going with Tom's Diner.

You ever hear the dozens of remixes of that one? I love the "I Dream Of Jeannie" one.

This thread actually inspired me to look for that one online--I remember it from Nick at Nite a decade or so ago!

(Haven't found it yet, though.)

Hm. It was it's own disc back in the day. The single remixes, that is. Cuz, the one version that was more common back then was actually the acid-jazzy remix, while the orginal was just her and a guitar, IIRC. Maybe you can find the whole thing for cheap as a CD on Amazon.

Could you give me the titles (the exact wording above the videos on the Youtube pages) of those links? If so, I can get them through my phone.

Sorry, it's neither of the youtube clips. It's my fault because I don't think I have the car's make right.

I want this to be solved.

Solved: It was Bossa Per Due by Nicola Conte. This song was in so many ads that all I had to do was go to one of the ad music forums and keyword search on bossa (I changed my mind about the style, sorry). I used the midomi program on my iPhone to identify it from a portion (no sound on the work computers). Thanks to everyone who wasted their time on me.

Oh, and it was used in Acura ads around 2000.
