Rumors are running wild that Rush Limbaugh is interested in buying the Rams.

Expect them to have one play that they will run on every down.

I used to like to punt on first down.

You have to mean "leading a consortium to buy the Rams."

As wildly successful as Rush has been, he doesn't have $500M.

I hope he can sign Donovan McNabb to be their quarterback.

He just needs someplace easier to score some prescription painkillers.

It's stunning to think that the Rams are about as valuable as the Cubs.

I wouldn't be surprised if he could gather that amount. I'm not sure what he's worth, but I bet it's a shit-ton more than most people think.

He just signed a deal with Clear Channel and Premiere Radio Network that's worth more than $400 million.

The AM radio host will be paid about $400 million to continue serving up his daily dose of conservative patter through 2016. His $50-million-a-year paycheck represents a raise of about $14.4 million a year over his current contract, which was paying him $285 million over eight years and was set to expire in 2009.

...

In The New York Times Magazine interview, Limbaugh said the new contract would pay him about $38 million a year for eight years. He also said he would receive a nine-figure signing bonus.

Shit, seriously?

Rush knows lots of rich people. Every picture you see of the guy he's playing golf with some billionaire. I will say, if this works out for him, the Rams may replace the Packers as my least favorite team.

I think he does though. He just signed the new contract four $400 million. He will probably be the leading investor.

He has money. He's from Missouri. He lives for the NFL. It makes a lot of sense.

Also, when was the last time the Rams had a black QB?

*shudder* Right before Green/Warner we had Tony "tiny hands" Banks.

Just saying: if the Rams have a black QB with a shot at the Pro Bowl, Rush's EPSN comments will again paint him as an ass.

I'm not sure the NFL would approve his purchase based on his comments on TV or radio.

Hey! The Packers are America's Team.
Ah... no. And any widespread love the Packers have enjoyed in recent years is quickly being evaporated due to their handling of the only player on the team anyone outside Wisconsin gives a fuck about.

I hope he can sign Donovan McNabb to be their quarterback. You have to wonder whether this will hurt the team in signing black free agents. There was a claim for many years that black stars would not sign with Green Bay.

And I'm just saying that Tony Banks has tiny hands. Ridiculously tiny fumble inducing hands.

Nobody really likes those overhyped pricks.

My father is a Giants fan and hates the Cowboys with a passion he usually only saves for the Red Sox.

I don't follow football, but with what the Giants did last year, I'll probably give it a shot this year. The superbowl was very exciting.

I'm sure there's some way to finance major purchases like this. It's not like he's going to show at Roger Goodell's office with a big truck full of cash.

 Notorious racism was the purvey of the Washington Redskins. The word wasn't that the Packer's org was racist, the word was that players didn't want to live in northern Wisconsin.

Chris Webber used to complain also that Sacramento sucked because, among other things, there was no good soul food. I don't recall hearing any black players complaining about life in Salt Lake City, but I think the culture there would be a little tough on any outsiders.
