At ze movie theater of which I manage, we got a huge shipment of popcorn and candy and stuff today to prepare for the onslaught that shall be the next few weeks. One of the things we sell are sour gummi candy which always change...when the Hulk movie came out they were Hulk gummies, then Spider-Man 2 gummies, then Spongebob gummies... we just got in a whole bunch of cases of Batman gummies today. But all the cases say "Batman Returns" on them... I'm soooo hoping that when we open the cases on Friday they're full of candy from 1992 with Michael Keaton's picture on them.

I think a bag of gummi-candy will outlast most marriages.

Anyone who pays the prices of movie candy gets what they deserve.

I have no problem paying for movie candy, soda, or popcorn. I get into movies for free and I know that theaters only source of profit comes from the consession stands

How is buying a ticket different if I don't get in for free?

So don't care what percentage of profits go to the studios from the theaters. If the industry wanted to come up with a way to not charge 2 dollars for a box of raisinets, or 4 dollars for a cup of soda, they could. Smuggling a couple of bags of skittles or a nestle's crunch bar or a box of Raisinets from the convenience store down the way is what I'll do. If the theater has an Icee machine, I'll get that there. But the idea of paying theater prices for candy or popcorn? I'd actually feel so much like a chump that the movie would be negatively impacted. I'd be distracted the entire time thinking how I'm a chump for paying 2 damn dollars for a 50 cent box of raisinets.
