Fox: Jackson used N-word in crude off-air remarks
From the AP:
Fox News says the Rev. Jesse Jackson used the N-word during a break in a TV interview where he criticized presidential candidate Barack Obama.
The longtime civil rights leader already came under fire this month for crude off-air comments he made against Obama in what he thought was a private conversation during a taping of a "Fox & Friends" news show.
Now a Fox spokesman says Jackson used the N-word to refer to black people during that taping as he said Obama was talking down to them. Those comments were not aired.
Jackson — who is traveling in Spain — apologized in a statement Wednesday for "hurtful words" but didn't offer specifics.
The N-word comment was first reported by blog TVNewser. Fox declined to release the transcript.

I fail to see how Jesse Jackson is still relevant to the rest of society. He's the political version of Paris Hilton.

I was in Washington DC when I was 15, and he was out in front of the Capitol building saying some shit to reporters. I was able to walk right up to him, and take an extreme close up photograph up his nostril. I still have it.

Yeah, it's an ugly and hurtful word that demeans an entire race of people who've suffered all kinds of abuse throughout history. But enough already. You can only be shocked and appalled for so long, and then it's just boring.

There are a bunch of ugly and hurtful words in this world. If I am having a discussion about what Jackson said and using the nigger because that is what he said I am not doing anything wrong. If go and call Benel a nigger than I am wrong.

Boy, he didn't mind jumping on IMUS for a much less racial remark.

While we were at a gas station not to long ago, my son overheard that word from two African Americans being used.
He asked me what they were calling each other? I said it was a hurtful word that we do not say. Of course, you can guess the next question a kid will ask, "Well, why are they saying it to each other and being mean?"
Sometimes, kids can get to the heart of the point better than adults.
Saying any hurtful word shouldn't be judged okay by anyone.
And in that case, it only helps to promote division among races.

Sharpton is a hypocrite.
Local DJs were talking about this newest Jackson blunder this morning and the conversation turned to what a hypocrite Sharpton is. They were talking about when Shartpton marched out in front of crowds during that college lacross player scandal, the one where the DA pressed charges against innocent students for raping a black prostitute.
They called Sharpton to ask him when he was going to apologize to those innocent men for the things he said about them, for the grief he caused them. He hung up without comment. Apparently Sharpton only cares when other people say harmful things, when he harms innocents with his words that's ok.

*sigh* I barely know where to begin. Anyone who would defend Imus' comments probably isn't worth discussing the matter with. Why exactly is Sharpton a hypocrite for wanting to hear what Jackson said before he comments? And why do you care what Al Sharpton thinks?

What I'm saying is that Sharpton sure is taking the high road with his buddy.
