Okay, I am bored and am going to tell a little story that leads up into the present.

A few years back I had a 87 Honda Inteceptor 750. I loved this bike, but after winning a motorcycle in a contest, I promptly sold it. Soon after tax time came around and I was expecting about 2k back, I was instead told I owed 2k as the motorcycle was declared untaxed income. So I jumped up a couple brackets and was suddenly 4k in the hole. So, I sold my motorcycle and have been motorcycleless for the past few years. Now with gas prices at a horrific state it has suddenly become a smart move to get a more gas conservative motorcycle. Unfortunately, I just don't have the money to throw into a new bike right now and refuse to pick up a new bike on credit. So, long story short, (I know, too late), I am selling some stuff to get the money together to pick up a bike.

The big item I am selling is my rifle. (And I know the benbo is largely anti-gun) It is a Springfield Armory 308 G3/91 with a couple of forends including folding bipod, a flash hider, 400 rounds of military ammo, 11 aluminum and steel magazines, cleaning kit, and a hard carrying case. I should get about a grand for that and I'm also selling some other stuff laying around, comics and the like.

I am teaching and getting cash for that, (which I have yet to save a penny of and instead spend on comics), and am wondering if the motorcycle is worth it. Granted, I realized a while back that motorcycles are pretty much toys, but I figure a bike would save me about $200 a month in gas. So, in the long run, it really pays for itself...or am I just talking myself into it? I think I am too close to the problem. Any ideas anyone? Anyone have a bike they are trying to get rid of? Or have a magical money tree they can strip and send me? I mean, I have not had any luck of late...unless you count that rattlesnake that granted me all those wishes. Any ideas?

Richmond, VA so, three to four season.

Sounds reasonable and not toylike then.
