View Full Version : if you could have one "thing" from either comic universe, what would it be?

nick maynard

web shooters, mjolnir, cap's shield, green lantern's ring, wonder woman's lasso, whatever!

if you could reach right into the comic page, and pull out one of these inanimate objects, what would you want?

why?

Mostly just screwing around. I'm saying I'd give myself powers that I would have even if I didn't have the Gauntlet.

And let's not forget I'd make the Gauntlet so it couldn't come off by making it tight. :)

Evan the Shaggy
05-20-2008, 06:15 PM
The Infinity Gauntlet would turn you into someone else. You wouldn't be the same person that you were before you put it on. Think about it, you know everything that has ever happened and will ever happen. You wouldn't be you, you'd be God you.

So I'd probably go for the Green Lantern Ring or a Symbiote.

No one person can ever wield the gauntlet w/o screwing themselves over in the end.

I'll take Nick Fury's government clearance (pre Secret War) and all the privileges therein. Either that or Tony Stark's fortune.

Ok so basically, when you put on the Gauntlet, it makes you God. You have access to everything ever, there are no limits on anything you know and anything you can do.

There is no way your mind could process such incredible unbelievable power without being totally different. Look at who's worn the Gauntlet in the past, Thanos, Adam Warlock, etc. They were already God-like, so it didn't change them much.

But with a symbiote, you would be you (singular). You would be you (plural)!

Also, take it from one, being a God is highly underrated.

I'd want Wolverine's Vincent Black Shadow from Killing, (1993, Rieber/Williams). It's only referred to as a 'Vincent' - but I'll assume it's a Black Shadow cuz it's an awesome bike, fast as hell - certainly something Wolverine would ride.

... Yeah it was in 4 volumes, Amazon had 3 but I checked my normal online comic shop for back issues and whatnot and fucking couldn't resist, I just placed an order for singles of issues 1-18 and then the 4th trade which is 19-25 because they didn't have any issues of 24 in stock and I don't feel like hunting it. Was actually cheaper than ordering the trades.

Nebula ended up getting screwed because she depended too much on the raw power of the gauntlet. And quite frankly, if Thanos and Nebula are the only two examples of people who have held the full power of the gauntlet, there ends don't bode well for anyone.

P.S. All this Infinity Gauntlet talk has me wishing for an Infinity Saga OHC or Omnibu containing Thanos Quest, Gauntlet, War and Crusade.
