Or that it took CBS almost 2 months to notice and do something about it!

So, Artie Lang is doing a comedy tour with several O&A regulars.
Wonder what Howard thinks?

Artie was the first comedian confirmed for Norton's HBO comedy show, and today he said Dice was going to be another. I didn't hear about a tour with Artie though.

Norton, and Opie, have always had good things to say about Artie.

Someone also mentioned that they want to get Breuer for the Traveling Virus show this summer.

That's it actually. He's on the HBO show, not a tour.

It's Norton hosting with Patrice O'Neal, Artie Lange, Dice and Bill Burr.

Should be interesting considering the somewhat recent Dice/Norton falling out.

Interesting that they have Dice along with the other 3. I hate to say he's washed up, but Burr, O'Neal and Lange are certainly more into their respective primes.

Kid Chris was a tool, and his show was constantly having an inferiority complex with their competition: 93.3 MMR's Preston and Steve show.

I won't miss them being on the air.

dice, patrice and burr have all appeared on howard. dice is a classic howard guest who only did o and a after he fell out with howard.

artie is a bigger name than norton, i'm not sure i understand what this deal is.

Howard wouldn't care. Artie has talked about doing shows with Norton on the air.

We should all accept that it is a great lineup with some awesome comedians and walk away while we still have a chance before this becomes "Battle of the Radio Zombies"

Doesn't Howard have a "If you go on O&A, you're not welcome on my show" policy?

When I had Howard, I'd hear him talk shit about O&A, but in the 8 months or so I've been listening to O&A, they've never said anything but good stuff about him.
I don't give a fuck, I think the shows are about equally good.

There has definitely been a cooling down in the "war", in both directions. It seems like they are both ready to work together if the merger goes through.

That makes sense. A station with both of them could be a powerhouse.

Howard 100 is already the most listend to channel on Sirius, how exactly would O&A help that? And how are these two acts seen as being even remotely equal in terms of ratings or financial success?

Let's face it, it wouldn't exactly be Superman and Batman teaming up. More like Superman and Ambush Bug.

C'mon.
O&A is the number 1 program on XM and Howard is #1 on Sirius. Not that hard to say the two would be a pretty powerful team.

O&A is #1? Thats the first I've heard that. If they're doing that well it makes no sense to team them with Howard, they can anchor their own channel.

My point earlier about the two shows is that they're hardly equals in any other quantifiable way. This isn't a content judgement, but Howard is a household name who brings in millions of subscriptions and was a dominant force (both in ratings and in ad revenue) when he was on regular radio. O&A, on the other hand, hardly had any subscribers when they first moved to XM (back when it cost extra to hear their show), and have been very mediocre in their return to Free Fm, or whatever it's called this week.

Absolutely. Howard brings years of #1 ratings, and the 6+ million fans he brought with him to Sirius. O&A bring 0.0...oh, wait...

no they are not. these numbers are public. they are not number one anywhere on anything by any standard in any demographic.

howard is the number one satelite show on both formats. by a mile. buba beats o and a.

Frankly, it surprises me how much passion show like this engender. I find them both funny and can see only a hair's-breadth difference between the two.
Now, I find them funny in the same way I find someone getting kicked in the nuts, or puking or farting loudly funny.
I can't imagine getting too caught up in it.

I don't have any problem with their show, i just find many of their (and their fans) assertions to be laughable.

I stand by my Superman/Ambush Bug comparison :)

I couldn't care less who gets the most ratings. I think they are similar shows that would attract a similar audience and between the two would create almost an entire day of programming.
I can understand why the two shows would compete, but I don't understand listeners who become involved in it.

Because it's fun to revel in the failure of people who spent a lot of time declaring how much better they are than Howard. They once proclaimed that they would beat Howard head to head in the mornings and they aren't even in the top 20 in New York with him gone. It's hilarious.

And for someone who delights in the misfortunes of Michigan I find it odd that this competition is puzzling to you.

Me too. It's not 1998 anymore. Howard did the radio war bit, was genius at it and has moved on.

And I know some will say he just doesn't care enough about his job anymore but seriously, I'm glad the show has evolved.

Other than than stupid porn chick segments, I pretty much love the show isn't exactly how it used to be.
