Directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Jeremy Irons. I saw this about 17 years ago when it was first released and always check from time to time to see if it is out on DVD yet so I can rewatch it.

Extremely surreal as it blurs the lines and incorporates elements from many of Kafka's books. I simply don't understand why it hasn't at least gotten a barebones release by now.

Any ideas?

I LOVE this movie. I demand a DVD!

The proper forms have not been submitted to the secret bureau of requests, and by asking about the DVD, you have broken 14 laws.

Actually, the film has been released, but it's in a form only cockroaches can understand.

Or so I'm told.

I actually didn't like this movie when it came out, but I was a pretentious dickweed back then (philosophy major with a focus on existentialism). Maybe I'll like it now. Maybe its a rights issue or maybe...fuck, I don't know. Have you seen Orson Welles' rendition of the Trial? That, I thought, captured Kafka very well. But again, I liked it when I was a pretentious dickweed and haven't seen it since.

Haven't thought about this movie in years-- sucks that there isn't a DVD of it out...which is surprising, considering it's an early Sodenberg film--

I've had it on DVD for like 4-5 years now, Region 2 French DVD. That reminds me, I really need to rewatch it.

Must be a weird rights issue here in the US. Soderbergh's KING OF THE HILL has also not been released here in the States.
