The lunch I had with Mark Waid was pretty cool and those Hero Initiative guys were cool enough to hold onto my bag for me while I was gone.
It's a shame I can't go for this one though since I leave Seattle around 2:00 damn you Central Time! And I'll bet you Newsarama will interview whoever is the lucky winner, I totally would've enjoyed that.

I got to go on one for HERO as a chaperone/guy who got the check. Wonderful time.

John Romita Sr.
Was that the one with Romita and his wife? Also how often do the Hero lunches actually happen? It feels like they're always announced last minute.

Yeah, one of the three. They happen all the time. I'm sure we would love to have more notice, but there are always lots of details to work out. It can be hard to set it up too far ahead.

Or Joe Quesada? That way they can talk face to face rather then over the phone at a panel.
Plus Bendis has his money strapped keeping up his Chick-Fil-A stock.

The winner of that auction should prepare for a lot of giggling!

How come? I may regret this but I have to know.

Have you been to a DC panel? DiDio giggles a lot.

Yeah but I've never seen him giggle. That's actually pretty scary in retrospect.
I'd love to go for this but with the art I'm buying I doubt I can afford it and I won't be able to make it due to the lunch starting an hour before I leave.
I'm not even sure I'd be interested in meeting him anyhow.

You'd probably have to meet him if you guys go to lunch.

Impossible. I would already be getting home late since I gain time going east.
Ah well maybe some other century. I'd kill to have lunch with Bendis, Bru, Geoff Johns, Fraction, Reed, or Slott. Although in the latter Spidey616 would most certainly kill me and steal my identity.
Jerk :(

I'll bid on this and win it. And make him listen to Plastic Man proposals by 8 different writers for an hour.

Maybe I should cancel that plane trip. No one deserves to have to hear about Plastic Man from Ethan :\.
We get the picture you love Plastic Man and he's a mobster again happy?

Here's My Pitch:
1. Learn Voodoo magic
2. Bring Jack Cole back from the dead
3. Have Jack Cole write and draw Plastic Man

We should contribute and send Dr. Omega!
Then watch him puss out as he wouldn't be able to call DiDio names to his face!
And videotape it!

Who's Dr Omega? He sounds like someone out of Newsarama.

I would love to have lunch with Dan DiDio. If it were me I wouldn't want someone who tells me that everything is great all the time, I'd want someone to really talk with me about the industry and what actually goes in inside stores. Too bad that I can't come anywhere near being able to win an auction. Maybe someday.

I happened across this post and thought that I would settle everybody's curiosity. My boyfriend and I won the lunch with Dan Didio. It was a great experience and I am glad that it supported a good cause. Didio was very down to earth and answered all of our questions about the industry and our favorite characters. Definately well worth it!

To be honest, Dan Didio was very upbeat and laughed which is a heck of a lot different than giggling. But then again, if I had his job, I think I would be smiling a lot too.

Useless without pics.
Can you give more details on his answers. Did he spill any secrets?

Here is a picture of us at the Cheesecake Factory, after lunch, and another of us at the convention. Lets face it, nobody looks flattering eating so we took pictures afterwards.

do they actually make you sign something beforehand so you could ask questions or was this all a verbal agreement that you will not spill the beans later about some character dying or coming back to life?

They didn't make me sign anything but I'm keeping quiet because the experience was just so amazing and personal that I don't want to ruin it. But I do have to agree, Didio is a very nice guy.
