Help a guy out! I'm looking for a list of the classic/iconic punk rock music videos.

I'm not looking for band recommendations, song recommendations, etc. Just the visual moments that really stand out in the public eye. If you've got any recommendations, a youtube link would be most appreciated.

Preferably all eras-- from the Ramones/Sex Pistols to today.

THANKS!!!!

punk music videos?

I don't think punk and music video go together so well... at least not anything considered classic. Of course the first Decline of Western Civilization might a good document.

Gaslight Anthem - I'da Called You Woody, Joe (http://youtube.com/watch?v=HgWzOElhs0w): Great new band doing a song about Joe Strummer.

Lawrence Arms - Porno and Snuff Films (http://youtube.com/watch?v=j12pcjPlXPI): Great song and funny video

Lawrence Arms - Devil's Taking' Names (http://youtube.com/watch?v=qslj96inMTY): Better song and better video

The Clash - London Calling (http://youtube.com/watch?v=FiVvA9YQpiI): You Can't go wrong with the Clash

Jawbreaker - Fireman (http://youtube.com/watch?v=VMtEDzOfwOQ): One of the best punk bands ever in their (I think) only video

Hot Water Music - Paper Thin (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jvkm2BpDsrE)

Bouncing Souls - True Believers (http://youtube.com/watch?v=-lesGrCGfVg): Best use of the phrase since Stan Lee

Awesome... THANK YOU! These are good...

I'm looking for stuff in the vein of "Pretty Fly for a White Guy," that despite its quality (I disliked the song and the video), it was inescapable in its time.

London Calling is another example.

Not sure if you also include post punk but Bastards of Young (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tZO94Mhfzk) by the Replacments is somewhat iconic.

To me.

And a few others.

If you're looking for really big hits, Offspring's Self-Esteem (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2kIZeVoRBuU) was actually a bigger hit than "Pretty Fly." I guess Green Day's When I Come Around (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KXifq_5y04Y) and Blink's "All the Small Things" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=QDV4E9ldelM) would both go in that same category as "Pretty Fly;" songs that were inescapable at the time of their release. Pretty much any video from those bands would fit that category actually. To a slightly lessor extent, Rancid's Timb Bomb (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4fMqJWoOjE4) and Bad Religion's Infected (http://youtube.com/watch?v=NPSJTVB3UAA) were also pretty big hits in the 90's.

Videos were considered anti-punk for a long time. Videos were thought of as shallow and commercial and a total sell out.

It's more like being on MTV was considered anti-punk and "selling out" for a long time (and still is in some circles). Even the smallest punk rock bands, the bands who adhered the closest to the punk aesthetics, were making videos, a lot of the time homemade or with just live shots filmed by friends, during the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

In modern times even more punk bands have videos than ever before, but you really won't find any of them on mtv (and not just because they don't play videos anymore). With the level of technology that is available just about anyone can make a quality video to throw up on Youtube to help get their music out there.
