just got into this comic and can't get enough. when his volume 5 coming out? how often are they released, tradewise. are there single issues or is it just digest?

They're pretty much annual. And usually around the middle of the year, but that's probably not true of the coming two since he took longer than usual (and it rather gloriously shows) with number four.

his website says the movie "will be adapted from the whole series, not just book 1". does that mean the movie will spoil the later books?

i hope thats how it happens.

it'll be a close call but i think it'll happen.

and also, unless theres some crazy twist, we all know the ending already, pretty much. and the books will have so much more packed in, so i'm not worried if the movie arrives first

Both Wright and O'Malley have been quoted as saying that the movie deviates enough from the books that "spoiling" the later books won't be an issue. The idea being that the film is a different exploration of the idea and some of the content of the books not so much a direct translation or adaptation.
