Shia LaBeouf visits 'Dark Fields'
Actor to star in Universal thriller

Shia LaBeouf has signed on to star in Universal’s techno thriller “Dark Fields.”
Neil Burger (“The Illusionist”) will direct the pic, which is based on Alan Glynn’s 2002 novel “The Dark Fields.”

Story centers on a young man who comes into possession of the ultimate smart pill, and the events that ensue.

Leslie Dixon (“Hairspray”) adapted the screenplay and will produce. Dixon acquired the material and wrote the script for less than her usual quote in exchange for having more control over the project.

LaBeouf next will be seen in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “Eagle Eye.”

He is repped by Endeavor.

Notice how the word "The" is being phased out of a lot of popular titles?

There's a societal commentary somewhere in that...

Also, I just realized that the skrull Hercules in your sig looks like David Hasselhoff, and for that, I want an apology.

It's a great script. Really excited that it's finally going forward.

Whats a techno thriller?

A thriller with an electronic soundtrack.

Or a thriller based on technology. Kind of like Untraceable was a techno thriller.

Whats a techno thriller?

Think Michael Jackson with glowsticks.
