Just wanted to get a feel of the fanbase on the board. Sorry if I couldn't list your favorite team on the poll due to the 10 option limitation, list it in the thread.

As some may already know, I'm a Brewers fan.

NL = Atlanta Braves
AL = Boston Red Sox (cause I went to Boston and dislike the Yankees). :p

I'm kind of shocked that the Cubs are winning.

The Cardinals are clearly the best team. They've been successful, but not too successful like the Yankees (those of the bloated payroll and mercenary hiring), and there's a lot of history, from Branch Rickey to Stan Musial to Bob Gibson to Ozzie Smith to Albert Pujols. Also, while outside the East Coast bias, they managed to have a sprawling following thanks to AM radio and the general absence of teams in the center/west of the country before the heyday of expansion. They're like everything great about the Yankees without the horrible baggage (not that they don't have their own baggage over the last 10 years, but what MLB team doesn't?).

Cleveland Indians, baby. Been a fan since before Major League. Even attended a make-up game one year that was at one time the record low attendance for a regular season game back in the old Cleveland Stadium.

I was even an usher for them one summer. Great summer job, especially if you're in high school. Getting paid to watch baseball games. Don't get any better than that..

"Too successful". I like that.

Meanwhile, Arizona and Florida win championships with mercenaries... not to mention the 04' Sox....

yet the Yanks are all mercs with homegrown players at 4 everyday positions, 4 out of 5 starters and their set-up man and closer... sounds like a ton of free agents to me.

You know, growing up, I was a Dodgers/Mariners fan, Dodgers because I grew up in Southern California so I had to root for them (and at this point in my life the Angels were a non-factor) and the Mariners for Ken Griffey Jr., who was my favorite player growing up.

But after I stopped following baseball, moved around a bit, and am not firmly in Red Sox Country, I don't really have a favorite team. At this point, I'm trying to slowly get back into baseball, so right now I kinda rely on the Red Sox as my gateway team, but once I graduate college I'm not sure where I'll end up and who the local team will be.

So I'm just going to vote Other, because my "favorite team" is actually a combination of several different teams.

It might the world's first example of reverse sports band-wagoning.

I'm all for rooting for the underdog if your team isn't into it. I rooted for the Senators when they were first playing - because they weren't in the same conference as the Rangers. Same with the Raiders (until they beat the Jets in the AFC championship).
