I can't believe it, either. I don't know why, but the bit in Spawn where he finds out he can turn into a regular dude but it has to be a white dude popped into my head the other day. Tho' I haven't seen it in over a decade, I can clearly recall the panel where he goes, "I won't stay like this. Not white!" In junior high, my reaction was, "what the fuck is wrong with you?" As an adult, I think that's still a fair question. Seems like no matter how much pride you have in your race, choosing to look like a fucked up monster instead of another race is more than a little ridiculous. So, Bendis Board, I ask you: would you rather wake up tomorrow as a different race or looking like burnt hamburger?

I'd change, but then again I can't really identify myself as anything other than White American. I wasn't raised with any knowledge of a national origin or ethnic background. So there's not much pride there unless I drop my IQ into negative numbers and start dressing up like a ghost with a pointy head.
