I feel guilty about being entertained by an animated pedophile but, dammit, I think he's funny. What do you people think?

That's cool. It's a good voice to leave on people's answering machines.

The only element of FG I find funny in any way.

"Come on Jesse, time to go outside and do your peeps and poops...

mmmmm...that's gon' feel good for Jesse".

That line kills me everytime, and I don't know why.

Funny as long as he's handicapped and unthreatening.

The Obi-Wan version suddenly became not-funny due to the fact that he was mobile and possibly dangerous.

I can do his voice dead on, which creeped the hell out of my ex. She loved my Quagmire, though.

Hate the character.

The only time I ever found him funny was in the Poltergeist spoof episode, when he acted like Gandalf.

I think Herbert at his most threatening was "Don't you mouth off to me or I'm gonna slap you right in your penis."

That was just wrong.

This thread is cracking me up.

After I met my brother for vacation in Vegas a few years ago, he called after he got home before I did, and watched FG. It was the episode with the Little Shop of Horrors spoof. He called and told me to watch it ASAP because it was at the same time hilarious and disturbing.

Which is how I feel about Herbert. (Though I agree that he will grow boring if given too much screen time.)

At least Herbert isn't as hated as the vaudeville guys. Though, I will admit that by the time the show killed them off (although one came back as a ghost) I started to come around on the bit.

"I'll tell you whats dead! Vaudeville! And TV's the box they're going to bury it in! Back then everybody had a schtick! I for one was a tumbler! Watch me jump through this big hoop!"

Herbert was funny once, but is too overused now.

I always found the vaudeville guys amusing.

It's my friend's favorite character on the show. Creepy, but funny.

Herbert was hilarious when he first showed up (especially the answering machine bit at the end of the Dixie episode). He still has his moments every once in a while but the joke is getting a little old now.

A little of column A and a little of column B. It's like laughing at a joke made by a retarded person. It just feels wrong, no matter how funny it is.

or maybe it's nothing like that. I don't know.

The Obi-Wan version suddenly became not-funny due to the fact that he was mobile and possibly dangerous.

But remember, he must have been a young, virile pederast at some point in his life, no matter how non-threatening he is now. ONE THAT WAS NEVER CAUGHT.

The thing is with Family Guy, and it's the thing that bugs me with the show alot of times, is they'll do characters like Herbert, and they'll run that into the ground. It's like "Yeah, we know, Herbert's a creepy pedophile". Same with the Blaccuweather forcast guy, or the guy with all the cork arms and legs. It'd be cool if they expanded on them a bit more instead of using the one joke about them over and over.

I don't want to get it into a FG vs Simpsons or South Park debate, but at least with those shows, when they had a character that was a one note character, either they made them disappear or expanded them and made them alot more interesting. I wish that Family Guy would do that themselves.

I completely agree about the Blaccuweather forecast guy. That should've been a one-shot deal.

Those are some of his appearances that I liked least.

I also don't really understand everyone's complaints about Ollie. Sure, he was funnier the first time, but he continues to be amusing anyway.

Hilarious.

What? It's not like he actually does anything to anyone on the show.

He's like Quagmire for teenage boys.
