How did this happen? (A Tale of Xbox Live and Racism)

So over the weekend I was playing some Call of Duty 4, and having a good ole time. I was killing peeps, and peeps were killing me(not the marshmallow kind). That was until I noticed "YOU WERE KILLED BY [KKK]SSCOONLYNCHER". I had to read it over and over again just to make sure I was reading things right. I exited the game and filed two complaints. One for his [KKK] clan tag and one for the gamer tag. I then hopped on Xbox Live and saw that this kid(man?) got the Xbox for Christmas as that was when they started playing games. I then noticed that he has played family friendly games like...Viva Pinata Party Animals and Lego Star Wars.

How did it take three months for someone to complain about this dude's gamertag?? Why was I so upset about it? What does that say about the average video game player, what does that say about me? I spent all weekend thinking about fucking SSCOONLYNCHER. It drove me fucking nuts. I'm happy to say that as of today the tag has been banned, but it raised a lot of questions for me. Am I the only one who is upset by something like this?

I've gotten that, just very racisit gamertags and it is distracting you don't think it is until you see "IRLPakismacker" and "Ihateblacks".

Though when I see annoying people like that I tend to aim for them nothing says payback then just hunting them down repeately in Halo 3 or CoD 4.
