Actually the one shoulder thing is Hawkeyes. Iron Man was not apart of the original adaptation. Hawkeye, Cap, Wasp and Goliath were.

The first issue of Tales Of Suspense (#83?) that I bought off the stand as a kid was the 2nd part of the first Super Adaptoid story-arc. So this is a must-have for me.

By the way, in that story-arc he "adapted" the 10-foot version of (Blue/Yellow) Goliath. Is that about the relative scale you are going to use?

The lack of full detail in the scaled surface was typical of how Cap, and therefore the Super Adaptoid, was drawn in the Silver Age.

Personally, I think maybe a little more scaling would look better on this piece.

I prefer the all-scaled look. Patches looks kinda off to me. I can understand why an artist having to beat a deadline would draw it that way, but in a permanent physical sculpture I think it makes more sense to put them all there

Also - the chest strap (for the arrow quiver) appears in the cover art for Avengers 45 but not in the ToS 84 version (which I think is the iconic cover/pose). Either way I'll be really happy but if you were going for a pose that you could stand in front of a "first cover appearance", I'd lose the chest strap. (It would also be much easier to create an variant version with Iron Man aspects if you removed the chest strap)

Can't wait to see the wings on his back & the shield... I like the mouth/face the way you have it right now. I'm guessing that the change-o-head/arms idea isn't on the table to allow for classic, vision/iron man, annihilation conquest versions (the mouth slit would only be appropriate for the latter versions)

Holy Crap that's gorgeous!!!!! I've had one or two grails in my quest to collect stautes. Space Ghost full size. A Red Tornado. Rom. But this, this is my Grail of Grails!!!! I'm so blown away by this.

And now for something completely different. My apologies to everyone, I just finished reading TOS 84 again, and it appears the chainmail on Super Adaptoid IS fully represented in almost every frame and only one or two places did I find the sparse showing of it.

I want to correct myself and say I believe the bust should have all the chainmail etched in (although slightly smaller in size than it currently shows. They look too large to me)

Also he should have no collar. As seen here:

From the last page of TOS 84.

Again, if the TOS 84 version is what you are shooting for (and I think it should be since I view it as most iconic) the neck peice should be removed. Also the gloves look more like Captain America's than the blend of Cap's and Wasp's as is seen in the issue as well.

Don't get me wrong Randy, I'm not complaining!!!! At all!! I'm so happy its being made at all I'll take what ever you give us. I'm just hoping to help make it a little truer to the original version.
