It's not as great as some of you perceive it to be.

You have to test one particular game for months & it becomes very monotonous. Crazy overtime once deadlines come around too & that can drain you physically & mentally real quick.

It really sucks if you have to test a garbage game!!

Occupation? Returning defective statues to Sideshow.

Interests (obviously Bowen)? My 2 children, HALLOWEEN, Howard Stern, comics, statues, movies, music- preferably metal, working out as much as my kids allow, selling on eBay. I'm also a big fan of Laurel & Hardy and Godzilla.

Do you go to conventions? Yes, about 2 or 3 a year

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I get my comics online and my LCS, I get most of my statues at my LCS.

When I listed "Halloween" as an interest I didn't mean the movie. Every year I go all out with my outdoor display as some on SF have seen. We're talking fog machines, strobe lights, props, sound effects, etc.

Comic pull list? HUGE: Most X-Men, most Avengers, most Spider-Man, Spider-Girl, Runaways, Buffy Season 8, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, etc., etc., etc.

Favorite Pie (or dessert)? Blue Bell's Birthday Cake Ice Cream. If you haven't had it, you are truly an underpriviliged person and have my pity.

Here are a few other things that come to mind:

My favorite comic book characters of all-time: Spider-man, X-23, the Vision, Mysterio, the Blob, Colossus and Kitty Pryde.

My favorite comics of the past 10 years: Most all X-23 appearances (New X-Men, Target X, Innocence Lost, NYX and now X-Force), Astonishing X-Men, Young Avengers, Runaways, Walking Dead, Buffy Season 8, X-Men Messiah Complex, Captain America.

Favorite comic book story/arc: Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne's Uncanny X-Men run. Kyle and Yost's recent New X-Men run is special, also.

Favorite comic book writers, artists Stan Lee, Neal Adams, Joss Whedon, Frank Miller, Bernie Wrightson, Kyle and Yost.

Cool! I'm hoping to help out with VBS again; last year was the first time I ever attended (didn't grow up going to church) so it was interesting and lots of fun.

My wife and I have one child (20 months old tomorrow) so I started helping out in the nursery and wobbler room, which is fun, but started before I had my son so got a lot of looks from the ladies. They usually stayed in there with me or wouldn't bring their kids until they got used to the idea even though I'd been going to the church for 10 years.

Then when I realized how much they had to jack the prices for the compensation of getting the busts up to Canada, I spread the wealth, and now it's a mixture of LCS, online and eBay. I just about died when I won Kraven for $11 and Baron Zemo for $16.50. It was like Christmas to me having never paid less than $56.95 for a bust before.

Do you go to conventions? I go to Wizard World Texas every year. Sometimes the Dallas Comic-Con conventions, depending on the guests/venue.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I use a local comic shop called Zeus Comics. Winner of the 2006 Will Eisner Spirit of Retail award, and hosts to the largest Free Comic Day event in the state, if not the country.

Comic pull list? Entirely too big for my wallet. I've actually been trying to pare it down.

Favorite Pie (or dessert)? Edward's makes this pie called "Moosetracks", which is just about the most delicious pie on earth. After that, I can't get enough of cheesecake.

Favorite beverage? I mostly drink iced tea, but occasionally I like a good glass of Coke. Sometimes even with rum in! :)

Favorite Pizza? Pizza Hut's Natural Rustica pizza. They just started making them, but they're my brand-new favorite.

Well, I went out with the company that I got in with.... DC. Detective comics in 1975 and Justice League of America in 2007. Although, I love Marvel!!!

Yeah, I'm currently on a pilgrimage to get Randy to sculpt a Gladiator (Imperial Guard) FS as well as talk him into having guys like Maddox and the Kuchareks help him sculpt MB's of all the Imperial Guard.:D Okay, other than that, I play in a rock covers band as time allows, I also write songs and record them. I love comic inspired sculpture and art as well.

Do you go to conventions? No. I almost made it to Wizard World LA last year though.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I only buy TPB's and hardcovers of storylines that I really want to read nowadays.

Interests (obviously Bowen)? As far as statues go, I'm mostly Bowen and Sideshow with the occasional piece from another company. The other interests: Comics, art, music (generally metal), movies (generally horror), books (once again, usually horror), video games, basketball, football, computers, and photography. I think that pretty much sums it up...

Do you go to conventions? A couple friends and I go to Wizard World Chicago in the summer, though there has been talks of one year changing it up and going to SDCC.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? Almost all of my statues are acquired online, the exceptions are usually found when we attend Wizard World. I used to get all my comics through the local comic book store, but when I say "local" I mean about an hour away. So lately I've taken to getting my comics online, generally a little cheaper, but the big one is gas prices. It also means I'm not in a car for hours every week. If I ever move up there though, I'll revert back to the LCBS.

Comic pull list? Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Wolverine, Wolverine Origins, Thor, Astonishing X-Men, Astounding Wolfman, New X-Men, and Ghost Rider. I'll generally grab the big events in individual issues as well, but there's a lot of other stuff I read, I just pick it up in hard cover.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? Pretty much from e bay , most of my buys tend to be from the States as even with shipping it works out cheaper than buying from the UK. Unfortunatly LCS are very few and far between in the UK which is a huge shame.

Just got into town tonight, came over from StatueForum, recognized some of the names here.
Big Bowen Design's Fan, not much into comic's anymore, only a few, Uncanny and Regular X-men, Ironman, Avenger's and just sold All Punisher run's to a Guy in England.
Before Christmas sold entire collection of DC title's, mainly Batman Related title's, some went back before the Neil Adam's Run.
My favorite drink is Straight up JD, w/ice, or Milwaukee's Best Ice, it still hurt's in the morning.
Also just completed rearranging my Bowen piece's, I was impreesed with my display, "finally", and then I realized I was almost out of space, Good problem to have, will post pic's soon, here and SF.
Will give this site a good looking over tonight.

I have a small comic collection which mainly consists of comics by my fav artists....Tony Daniel.....David Finch....Matt Banning....etc
Titles would include: The Tenth, The Darkness, Witchblade, Aphrodite IX, various X titles, some Spidey titles, among other things...

I just started collecting statues late 2006, so I don't have too many. I have a few Bowens, CS Moores, Sideshow, and a couple DST pieces, and some other pieces.

Comic pull list: Inapplicable. If I buy comics at all, which happens very rarely, I just do TPBs. My collection of TBDs is limited to: Hellboy, Supervillain Team-Up: MODOK's 11, Alex Ross' Justice, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and, perhaps my favorite, Thunderbolts.

Thanks guys. Life has changed indeed. My priority now is the kids' best interests in every area, everything else is a distant second consideration. It is a nice feeling. I have a sense of purpose, meaning and responsibility. And extreme sleep deprivation. Oh yeah.

Bowen-wise, I have stocked up on a swag of FS recently (Ice-man, Avengers Beast, Doc Strange, Spider-Woman, the brown Wolverines and a few more on order) with a view to putting them into storage for a few years to avoid the breakage days with my kids. I took a good look at the Detolf full of statues and did some hypothetical regression: as a 5 year old, what would I do if I saw that display? Answer: everything I could to get my hands on the sculptures and play with them.

I buy tpb's/hardbacks mostly now, and usually I get them on-line. I travel a fair amount... so it's fun to see comic stores from around the globe.

Comic pull list? The Walking Dead, Thor, Incredible Hulk, the every-so-often X-Men title.
Green Lantern-related titles have been enjoyable lately also (in tpb/hb form). Invincible I'm reading in hb form, those collected editions are great. I might pick up The Initiative again, just to see how the first arc (the series?) ended.

Favorite Artist?
Aaron Lopresti is definitely towards the top of the list. Not surprisingly, as Planet Hulk was (and is) one of my all-time favorite reads.
Dale Keown, David Finch, Tim Sale. I'm enjoying McNiven's work lately also. Jim Lee and Marc Silvestri I'll always appreciate.

Favorite Writer?
Peter David and/or Frank Miller. Far more "adequate" writers than there are "exceptional" ones, regrettably. That's not to say there aren't a busload of great comic writers out there, though. :)

Favorite Pie (or dessert)? I try and keep in shape, but if I had to choose it'd be.. uh... Rocky Road ice cream.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I shop at the LCS when they have their sales. I buy stuffs off of eBay. I also order many of my statues and busts directly from Bowen Designs.

Comic pull list? Not any more. Gave up comic collecting back in 1999.
Favorite Pie (or dessert)? Apple

Favorite beverage? Coke and Beer (not at the same time) :)

Favorite Pizza? Round Table pizza combo. Costco combo pizza is not bad either-for $10.00 it's a good deal.

I'm not familiar with a lot of the "new" guys who aren't new to each other having spent a lot of time together online at Statue Forum. So give us the 411 on yourself:

Occupation? Network Engineer (Routing/Switching)

Interests (obviously Bowen)? Comics, Movies, Martial Arts, Motorcycling, Languages, Music...

Do you go to conventions? Haven't so far but wouldn't rule it out.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I certainly go to a LCS. I also purchase online from ebay and various other sources.

Comic pull list? Pretty full...actually, now that I think about it, way too many. No wonder I'm running out of space.

Favorite Pie (or dessert)? Chocolate Cream Pie

Favorite beverage? Varies.

Favorite Pizza? Depends, I like Papa John's but I also enjoy a thin crust from Pizza Hut...I actually don't have pizza all that often.

I have actually been around for several months but only recently started posting. I was a little turned off by the feeling of the comic statue forum so I was "checking out" this forum. Folks here seem generally quite pleasant. I'm glad to be here!

Occupation- Administrative Assistant at Panchero's Franchise Corporation (for Panchero's Mexican Grill, pancheros.com)

Interests (obviously Bowen)- Bowen, Men, Comics, Men, Music, Movies, Men, and Various other things that change moment to moment. Been collecting comics since the early 90s. Collecting Bowen for about a year (missed a lot of sweet stuff, thank god for ebay).

Do you go to conventions- Went to one in the Early 90s in Washington State, but haven't been to once since. Would probably get over excited.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix- All my comics come from the local place, they have moved 3 times but I keep finding them. Order my Bowen directly from Bowen is possible, otherwise Ebay rules.

Comic pull list- Of course, don't be silly. Anything X-men related, Avengers related, Fantastic Four, Wonder Woman, JLA, and a few other misc titles.

Favorite Pie (or dessert)- Pumpkin with whipped cream.

Favorite beverage- Pepsi (I am an addict)

Favorite Pizza- Pepperoni from Zio Johnos, Papa Johns, or Pizza Hut. Also like Tombstone for storebought.

Political affiliation- I am a Gay Democrate, because being a Gay Republican is Stupid (talk about self issues). I Also an a close follower of Happy Bunny.

Occupation? A boy with a dream. But at the moment, retail supervisor.

Interests (obviously Bowen)? Battlestar Galactica!!!, Seeing movies at the cinema, taking care of ferrets and just about anything geek. But not smart geek, my brain is a little too slow for that.

Do you go to conventions? Once my wedding is out of the way, my future wife and I are going to start going.

Do you shop at a local comic book store, order online, how do you get your fix? I shop at the one good comic shop in town, I also buy from a great online store, the shipping and service is very slow but I am never let down.

Comic pull list? D.E.'s Battlestar Galactica, Marvel's Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, Inhumans, Black Widow, Anything connected to War of Kings, Annihilation and Galactus, Ender's, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane and anything drawn by Greg Land.

As far as statues go, Bowen, Sideshow, etc. I love surfing, skiing, singing, writing, etc.

Went to ECCC and SDCC in '08, first two conventions I've attended; they'll "hold me over" for a while. :) Plus, I went there for work reasons, so I was able to deduct some of it.. haha.

Haven't bought individual comics in over a decade, so I usually buy on-line.
