Cool. Hank could be an interesting choice for a skrull, but I'm starting to think that we should pay more attention to who isn't being drawn skrully than who is.

And in somewhat related news, Chris Gage aka Dan's co-writer on A:TI is writing the 4-issue Thunderbolts tie-ins. Chris' Thunderbolts one-shots were awesome, and he's already done a great job with the first glimpse of A:TI SI tie-ins in the Annual, so I can't wait to see what happens to the Thunderbolts. Especially since Dan's bringing them into ASM in August and this image for #121 :D

#121 is the finale of Caged Angels isn't it?
Reports on WWLA seem to vary (on EVERYTHING - serious accuracy problems, underlined by CBR confusingly misspelling Aubrey Sitterson's surname as "Citizen"), but the impression I get is that Chris' Thunderbolts arc is three issues - which should fill out a collection of his one-shots nicely. :)

Here's the full solicit for A:TI #14 that has that awesome Mark Brooks cover above.
AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #14
Written by DAN SLOTT & CHRISTOS GAGE
Pencils by STEFANO CASELLI
Cover by MARK BROOKS
SECRET INVASION TIE-IN
"We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us!"
During the INFILTRATION, a Skrull at the heart of the Camp Hammond said these words: "It won't be long until we have a Skrull in every state! "Now that Skrull stands revealed and the fate of The Initiative, the United States, and Planet Earth hang in the balance. Plus: Former Avenger, Delroy Garret, assumes the mantle and arsenal of Earth's greatest Skrull-Hunter, THE 3-D MAN. He's here to chew bubblegum and kick some Skrull-@$$. And he's all out of bubblegum.

Anyone read the conclusion of Chris Gage's Savage Land story in the most recent issue of Marvel Comics Presents? Besides being an awesome reader with Zombie Dinosaurs, great Moon-Boy action, and possibly one of the funniest Shanna the She-Devil lines, it seems like Chris was foreshadowing the Savage Land's involvment in Secret Invasion.
I know Chris is probably still recovering from WWLA, but I was wondering if indeed Ka-Zar's warning of any future "invasion" was indeed a hint of things to come in SI? And did Ka-Zar get "any" from Shanna? By which I can only assume she meant sugar cookies ;)

Hey, Spidey616, I'm really glad you liked it! That was so much fun to write, and I think Joyce Chin did an awesome job on the art. (If you missed it, check out Marvel Comics Presents #5-7!)

AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #15

Cover by MARK BROOKS
SECRET INVASION TIE-IN!
"The Only Good Skrull..."
With the NEW AVENGERS and the MIGHTY AVENGERS trapped in the Savage Land, it's up to the AVENGERS INITIATIVE to face off against the first major strike of the Skrull Invasion! There, on the field of battle, the cadet with the biggest secret has to choose how red (or green) his blood really is. Heroes will fall. Heroes will die. And one shall rise. All THIS and: A new cowardly low for ANT-MAN! A new danger for WAR MACHINE! And 3-D MAN gains a "killer" new "krew"!

Stefano's off for this issue? TOLIBAO did Gage's Iron Man Annual story, so he should be a good replacment. I hope Stefano's not leaving the title. Plus Chris Gage's T-Bolts SI issues finally gets an artist :)

Could Triathlon's crew be (spoiler about those who survive the KIA arc)Thor Girl, Cloud 9, Komodo and Hardball? They should be promoted official heroes after their actions in the KIA arc and since Triathlon was their field leader in Camp Hammond, it would be logical to have all of them in the same team.

There is an existing group with that name...but I suspect that Triathlon will be forming a *new* Kill Krew. I'm pretty sure Quesada or Brevoort mentioned that there were no plans to bring back the original Kill Krew as part of Secret Invasion.
And those guys won't be around anyway since they're joining Initiative teams.
Technically, we don't know for sure yet where they'll be. At least some of them will be joining teams (although, for all we know, they could get assigned to a team under Triathlon's command), but some of them might fail and get held back for retraining, or get washed out of the program, etc, etc.

Well lesee there's Ryder and Riot. You're right the gun could be Dice, since it would be more useful to arm Ryder rather than just have him use that crazy hair of his all time.
But I also noticed Ryder seems to have lost a leg or two and had them replaced, for all we know the gun is probably just another attachment, for all we know the Kill Krew may have been the only ones fighting the Secret Invasion before even Nick Fury found out and have paid for it.
Sides who wouldn't want Dice and his surfer dude attitude?
I hope we get more of Catwalk, and Moonstomp. Moonstomp would get along just fine with the good Baron since they're both Nazis. And I ootta say Mark Brooks makes the Kill Krew look way more awesome than Steve Yeowell ever did honestly. And I'm wonderin how the Kill Krew hook up with 3-D Man.

That's certainly a possibility. But we can't tell from the solicts or the cover if it's true yet. The homage cover to Mighty Avengers #14 featured a Skrully Vision, but the issue itself focused on the Sentry. It might turn out that Jarvis is the one who was replaced just after Disassembled. Yellowjacket's replacement might turn out to be in the more recent ATI #2. Time will tell, I guess.

Um yeah at the end of Mighty Avengers #14 it says that the next story is "Whatever happened to Henry Pym?" it's going to focus on what happened at the end of Avengers Disassembled.
And these covers are homages and sometimes are indicative of the content inside considering it was a Skrull Vision who duped the Sentry.

Seriously, this was a great issue, nothing yet involving the battle in Times Square, but it's coming.
Regarding Hank Pym and the Skrull reveal twice in the same week.
This is the same one in Mighty Avengers correct, and was a female Skrull right? Because it seemed to be a male in the video conversation with Revolutionary, but it's Skrulls we're talking it, they practically change sex on a daily basis like Xavin of the Runaways.
Cardinal Braxiatel

Maybe Skrullowjacket can be the impetus to create a new costumed identity for Doctor Pym. If you don't count Doctor Pym, Scientific Adventurer, it's been way too long since Hank altered his look and power set. Maybe some of what he came up with in creating Ultron could be repurposed?

I'm kinda pissed that Crusader would trick 3-D Man into leaving the camp but if it's the only way that he'll be able to team up with the Kill Krew and kick some Skrull ass then I'm all for it.
Plus the Skrull variants of all those heroes is pretty darn awesome now I can't wait to buy the actual book.
Alas if only it was offered on subscription.

Assuming the goggles are reliable (albiet reversed), that means none of the characters in that two page spread are Skrulls. Of course, that doesn't rule out any of them being replaced by Skrulls in the next few issues.

It's allways great to read a Dan Slott interview about ATI.
Also cool to see She Thing again, unless she's a "Soon Dead She Thing" or a "She Skrull Thing".

Plus: It's THOR GIRL vs. ULTRA GIRL! One is more than she appears to be... and the other's a Skrull.
Hmmm. I can see arguments for either of them being a Skrull. In Thor Girl's case, there is the matter of her getting seemingly killed by KIA--and then turning up without a scratch on her one issue later. Sure, everyone assumed that she was just too tough to be killed...but perhaps the real Thor Girl DID die, and was replaced by a Skrull.
As for Ultra Girl, as a Kree she would certainly be someone the Skrulls would be interested in eliminating just on a basis of racial hatred as opposed to any tactical advantage. And it could also be the real reason why Ultra Girl chose to turn her back on her boyfriend and stay in the Initiative rather than leave with Justice and the rest of Counter-Force--if she's a Skrull agent, she'd want to stay in the Initiative (where she has a position of influence as head of the Junior Guardsmen) rather than run off with a fringe group.
And, after fourteen issues, are we REALLY going to unmask MUTANT ZERO?!
I hope so. With so many characters and subplots running through this book, the Mutant Zero mystery runs the risk of being forgotten about if it stretches out too long, since she isn't one of the frequently appearing characters anyway.

A cool interview with Dan about A:TI in SI is over at newsarama. I don't know if he's telling the truth about finally revealing Mutant Zero, after all those teases with KIA, I don't think there's much of a chance we'll be seeing her unmaksed during the current SI arc.

I note that Dan only said that we'd see another one of her powers and that we'd see her out of costume. Not that we'd get a look at her face or get a definite reveal of her identity.
I don't think there's much of a chance we'll be seeing her unmasked during the current SI arc.
I imagine there'll be more teasing over the next few issues before we get the full blown reveal, which I agree will take place some time after SI.

Something that came be to mind about the "classis Avenger" joining ATI: now that Gyrich, Skrull Pym and Rhodes are out, there is nobody left to run Camp Hammond. So the new hero joining ATI will possibly be the new director.

The sollicit of ATI#20 says that some characters will move to four major titles.
Any idea what those titles are?
We allready know that
*Ant-Man will be in Thuderbolts
*Stature will be in Mighty Avengers
But what are the two other titles?
*War Machine? Does that count as a "major" title?
*Dark Avengers? And so the girl in Ms Marvel suit would be Ultra Girl (I'd love it but I'm not sure Bendis care about E list characters like her)
*Skrull Kill Crew? Perhaps a good title, but "major"? I don't think so.
*Secret Warriors? They could have Hydra Leader Hardball as nemesis.
Other ideas?

I don't know. Dan sayed that he wanted to explore Stature/Vision, Stature/Pym and Stature/Scarlet Witch relationships, so Cassie may stay in MA for a while.
And even if the YA finally return, they can do without Cassie and Vision and even have new legacy members (like Thor Girl or Spider Woman III)
