Because Cap.Marvel have 3 ,Miss Marvel modern & classic too,Jean Grey 3 versions,Angel & Archangel and even Luke Cage have his (600 ) modern version, so i hope Nova have the modern version too , because he's a very important character and the new design is just amazing.

I don't think it will affect the market that much Randy...collectors seem pretty willing to spend big bucks...just look at how much chrome surfer, chrome colossus, thanos, juggernaut etc are going for

I agree with the above statment. If MB went to $100 each I'd still buy them. The same goes for Full Size statues. The quality and detail in each work is well worth the money. Some companies charge the same or more as Bowen does and they are not half as detailed and lower quality.
Collectors will pay the big bucks for what they want.

Randy, I have two questions about Power Man. And before I go in, I haven't picked mine up yet, so perhaps the answers to them are more obvious in person.

1) What was the reasoning behind attaching Power Man to the base? Not a big deal, but I found it surprising.

2) And speaking of the base, what was the reasoning behind making the base slightly taller than Iron Fist's (flat) base? Sure, he's his own statue, but I have to imagine that a large part of the appeal to many people who bought it is to display the duo together.

Wow...I realize it's only speculative, but this just made my stomach turn. That would really suck for everyone involved, not just collectors...never thought of it this way. I only buy BD as I know a lot of others here do too. The scale, quality, portrayals, price, service, etc...it's the best combination out there and thanks to you, RB. I get a lot of enjoyment from your statues and busts. I hope this doesn't ever have to happen.

wow randy i love the new air walker and wonderman pics cant wait to get them. you seem to keep outdoing yourself withevery new statue. i pre order every mb and fs that comes out, and being disabled because of the war i cant even begin to descibe how much enjoyment collecting your statues has brought to me. before i started collecting i sat in a chair all day and stared at a tv. everyday was exactly the same i went to bed every night with nothing to look foward to in the next morning. now everyday i wake up hoping for a delivery from ebay or new statues. also checking your site and this messageboard to see what is new. so it may seem silly to most but collecting really has i'mproved my quality of li'fe more than i can desscribe. if everything came out next month that was suppoedm to it woould come to a lot of money but its well worth it. i buy every statue that comes out plus a bunch from ebay evmery month and it trully does give me a lot of enjoyment. so keep um coming

1) The new factory produces stuff a little differently.

2) I think that (when the piece was sculpted) it was done slightly larger because we knew that it had to be molded a couple of time before the final sculpt(s) were done. The sculpt shrinks with each new generation of molds.

i would rather the prices go up then no more bowen marvel statues because the price became to high to make them. thats not to say i want higher prices. but at least i would still have the chance to buy them. lets hope we never get to that point.

I can't agree more with you Doc, but as this phase seems to be totally defined about characters and really short of time for the problems we all actually know , i think all those cosmic characters will have its place on a future(if happen) phase 5.

I remember you saying black with metallic blue highlights. Also, will you please make sure that the strands on his cape are painted correctly with a red underside and black/blue backside like in the picture above instead of just all black like the mb was seen here

It looks much better with the red underside. And don't forget the underside of his boot flaps are red as well. Also, what color will his dot be? Red or black? I know it was red for the MB, but it seems to be portrayed as a black diamond most of the time in the comics art. It seems trivial I know, but important nonetheless. So what say you? Thanks for answering. I'm really looking forward to this one.

P.S. the Cockrum & then Byrne years were unequalled & the Jim Lee 90s comeback was great & all, but this page exemplifies an awesome & too-often overlooked creative period for the X-Men, esp in terms of character & design, the mid- to late 80s w/ Claremont & Silvestri.

I remember you saying black with metallic blue highlights. Also, will you please make sure that the strands on his cape are painted correctly with a red underside and black/blue backside like in the picture above instead of just all black like the mb was seen here

It looks much better with the red underside. And don't forget the underside of his boot flaps are red as well. Also, what color will his dot be? Red or black? I know it was red for the MB, but it seems to be portrayed as a black diamond most of the time in the comics art. It seems trivial I know, but important nonetheless. So what say you? I was wondering if you had put any thought into completing Marvel's Axis of Evil? You have the A.I.M. scientists up for order and there is a soft commitment for the agents of Hydra but the last leg of the grouping IMO would be the Hand ninjas. There are other groups that could be substituted but they seem to round out the roster the best. I would like to follow up that question with one more question, will the proposed Dreadnought statue make it into this Phase? Thanks!

i was just wondering how much it irritates you to read all the nit picking on everything you do. first today i saw a few people complaing on if the zombie piece is cheaper why arent others, instead of applauding getting a great statue at a great price. now i just read on sf how people are whinning on the color scheme of the steath iron man. it seems that people want every varient out there then when they are produced complain about it. i have pretty much every bust and am working on completeing my full size collection and i for one am happy with every piece in my collection. i have only a couple pieces that are not bowen and on there own look ok but when side by side with my bowen collection look awful. im only speaking to a couple people out there most seem to understand its a buisness and everything cant be produce tommorow. but i think with all the amazing statues that you have produced people should learn to trust you and if there is a statue that they dont like for what ever reason pass on it, instaed of acting like it shouldnt be made just cause they dont like the character cause im sure there are many othhers out there that do

Classic team.....Retro Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel (once he's up for order), so all that's left is HUMAN BEAST and PROFESSOR X in an old school wheel chair....I'd also take Havok and Polaris to round out the team!!

Giant Size team.... 1st Storm statue, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Wolverine, Retro Cyclops...just need SUNFIRE, BANSHEE and THUNDERBIRD (this is the furthest from completion)

hey Randy I have a question. why is it that it takes so long for some pieces to be released while it takes others a much shorter time.
for example we've seen sneaks of a pretty much done Hyperion a long time ago, and yet pieces that were much less finished or didn't even have WIP pics have come out since that first sneak.
Giant man FS is another exmaple,...same thing happened with Hercules,....is there a reason for that?

The solicitations for new products for 2009 are kind've vague. Whereas we're used to hearing "July 2008" or "December 2008", now we have "early 2009" and "spring 2009". Is there a reason for this change? The new system will probably be more accurate, I was just wondering if there was a rationale behind it...

i dont know much about this character i havent got caught up on spiderman yet but ive seen pictures of anti venom. he looks good and i saw a marvel select figure of him in previews. like i said im not sure if hes a good new villain or just a good drawing.

but my question is since hes so new any chance of a mb or fs this phase or was your character list in before he came out. in that case would it have to come in the next phase or are you allowed to add characters along the way. or is it just easier to wait until another phase. that is if you are even interested in doing a anti venom mb or fs. thanks

If you do make her eventually, Randy, please don't just do a cut down....I think it penalizes the bust and fs collectors since they esentially have the same exact sculpt for both. Please make it new? :)

If the extension happens and she's on the list. I'd love either a FS or MB of Sprial. I know some will complain. However, If you took six armed Spiderman bust . Slim down the waist and add some breasts. Change the head. put a dagger in one hand and a sword in the other and she's done. She is one strong armed, ripped woman, so the arms would be fine.

I'll get it!

hi i was wondering if anyone knew anything about a red devil fs. i saw it on ebay the other day and i wasnt sure if it was a rip off or did randy do this fs. and if so is this part of the marvel phases of statues or was it out before. also can anyone tell me about the character is he marvel or someone else i cant seem to find out anything about him.

RedDevil is the 1940's DAREDEVIL , first drawn by Jack (Plastic Man) Cole for Silver Streak Comics in 1940.

Marvel picked up the right to the name DareDevil years later ,so when this character was re introduced , the RedDevil name had to be used.

This is indeed a Bowen creation . I have one myself! :cool:

Hey Randy, Happy Labor Day Weekend.
If the extension happens and she's on the list. I'd love either a FS or MB of Sprial. I know some will complain. However, If you took six armed Spiderman bust . Slim down the waist and add some breasts. Change the head. put a dagger in one hand and a sword in the other and she's done. She is one strong armed, ripped woman, so the arms would be fine.
Ok guys let me have it for even suggesting this.

You are certainly not alone. I too share your want for a Spiral anything. FS or MB. I of course would perfer FS so we can get those awesome furry boots, but I would certainly take anything. And I absolutely agree with you that since the six-armed Spiderman turned out so well that Spiral would be the penniacle of that look. I am so desperate for a quality Spiral figure that I am even going to stoop so low as to buy Hasbro's Spiral from the Red Hulk build-a-figure line. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Without wishing to seem too dense, can you say how this affects the as-yet-unseen fs statues of Valkyrie, Wasp, & Mystique (these haven't yet been labeled 'on hold')? Are they still going to be made this phase, but only if the contract is extended?

Has this also endangered the completion & release of the Ms. Marvel fs statue, or is this simply in the paint queue still?

I love the classic look, as this is one of many 70's characters I grew up with. You confirming a modern version is like icing on the cake...I collect the new series ongoing and have followed Nova throughout the years.

not knowing is so frustrating a state of affairs for those of us who just want to BUY the statue that i imagine it's beyond annoying for you who has to worry about producing and selling it.

as someone who's been vert excited about the Ms Marvel fs since the first wip's went up, the continued "who knows?" gist of the updates--and, seemingly, of the status of SO MANY highly-anticipated statues & the contract extension in general--is continually disappointing, esp since it's only now September of 2008 & from the sound of it we might already have seen most everything that's coming out from now till 2010, when the phase is over.

Is that true? Given how often we've heard "it's on hold/depends on the extension," WHAT/WHO could the other statues be yet for this phase that you've not revealed, that are in the works?
