Ahhh!!! I remember this! My aunt bought me signed first issues of Mr. Hero and Primortals just on a random whim!

I still have those somewhere...

Sadly, I was too young to really know if they were any good or not. I was all about the art back then.

I went over to my parents house last night and found a full sheet of cards featuring Techno Comics characters sitting around. The kind they used to stick in Wizard.

People said similar things about Valiant. Look how most of those books turned out.

I'm not sure, but they found a way. None of them impressed me.

I liked all the Tekno stuff. I've got the entire run in storage. (such a sucker for underdog companies).

I think the one book I liked the least though was I-Bots. That one just never completely held my interest.

Surpisingly, Neil Gaiman's Mr. Hero and Rick Veitch's Teknophage stuff turned out to be the best of the lot. Some solid writing done there all around.

The biggest clusterfrick though was probably Roddenberry's Lost Universe one. Man I wonder if it could have salvaged itself if they ever did publish that crossover they had solicited with Nimoy's Primortals?

And why is all of this coming out of my head in perfect memory?

I kind of enjoyed Mr. Hero. I think it would have been better if they hadn't tried to tie in all of the "Tekno Universe" elements.
