Welcome to the first round of the DC/Marvel Fantasy League Playoffs! Instead of having the teams face off each other in battle in the playoffs they must complete an objective based mission. As always please DO NOT VOTE BASED ON YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER OR PLAYER, BUT STRATEGEY.

The Dalek army (of 5,000 +) has invaded Wakanda. Select a 7-person team to defeat the Dalek’s. You must defeat them in one day. You also have access to the TARDIS (minus The Doctor).

Qusar (Phylla-Vel), Dr. Doom, Cyberface (Savage Dragon), Karma, Solar Man (Savage Dragon), Purple Man, Fing Fang Foom

VS

Team Chronos (3)

Strategey:
The Purplepants team of Dr. Doom, Quasar, Cyberface, Purple Man, Karma, Solar Man, and Fin Fang Foom fast approach Wakanda in an Imperial Latverian flight craft.
Looking at the display, Doom remarks, “It appears Wakanda has been invaded by a horde of Daleks. Five-thousand-and-one to be exact.”
Karma gasps, “Daleks? What are those? How will we defeat all of them?”
Doom retorts, “Daleks are an alien race that utilizes powerful, robotic casings to attack and conquer. Now, let’s form a plan before the cruiser lands.”
Cyberface clears his throat. “You said ‘robotic’? In my home universe, I took over Earth utilizing alien technology. I can control all forms of robotic and mechanical contraptions. Just get me in close.”
Within 5 minutes, the flight craft has landed and Cyberface has 5,001 Daleks entrapped in their mechanical, tank-like weapons. Cyberface has the Dalek units welding together each others’ access hatches, rendering the aliens unable to escape.
Doom approaches Cyberface. “Here. I just downloaded the Doombot programming protocol to our cruiser. Override their current programming with it.”
Doom turns to Quasar and says, “Fly as quickly as you can back to Latveria. Return with that massive Shi’ar war ship we procurred weeks ago. We should be able to load them all into it. This is simply spectacular.”
-----------------
Hours later, and with the enemy completely overwhelmed and assimilated, the squad returns to Latveria. Solar Man pouts, “All that time, and I didn’t get to smash a single one of them.”
Purple Man smiles, “Just load Flash into one of those tin cans and wail away on it.”
-----------------
Another decisive victory for Purplepants: Agents of Doom.

* editors note – Solar Man really went to town on that Dalek unit with Flash Thompson crammed in it. Flash died as a result of injuries sustained.

Okay just for record my team this time round is Sue, Iron Man, Kang, Super-skrull, Wonder Woman, Eve, Namor

Okay everyone on the team should have more than enough experience with alien invasions to get over the whole shock of seeing Daleks so let’s move swiftly on from them having an element of surprise. If we start off close to the TARDIS the team goes inside immediately, if not and we have to make our way their. To keep a low profile Sue’s going to make the team invisible and Iron Man will activate a radio wave so the Daleks don’t detect us by heat signature or whatever else they may have up their sleeves. They may notice a signal from a movable foreign technology but hopefully it’ll give us enough time to get inside the TARDIS and lock the doors behind us so the Daleks can’t get inside.

After the initial ‘the inside is bigger than the outside!’ bit the team will get to work. Iron Man and Kang will do their best to hack the TARDIS archives to give us some more information on the Daleks. This should take some time but shouldn’t prove too much of a problem for both Tony and Kang. Once the whole team is brought up to speed on the Daleks, some info on the Doctor and what the TARDIS can actually offer this is what we’re going to do.

Super-skrull is going to morph into the Doctor, the current one would be best but really any version would do. Kang is going to take the extrapolator (as seen in Boom Town, Parting Of The Ways and Runaway Bride, it’s essentially a really, really potent force field that as shown in Parting of the ways Dalek firepower can’t penetrate.) and try to merge it with his armour and boost the signal so that anyone standing close to Kang will be shielded by the force field. Again this’ll take time so while Tony and Kang work on that the rest of the team are going to familiarise themselves with any Dalek weaknesses.

After the extrapolator is attached Kang’s going to disappear for a moment and return with Dalek weaponry in the form of Dalek advanced Thompson machine guns (as seen in Evolution of the Daleks)

This is because Daleks have in the past been vulnerable to their own weapons (as seen in the aforementioned Evolution of the Daleks and the Five Doctor’s). Once everyone’s properly armed everyone is going to stick like glue to Kang. The group will operate like a circle so they can fire in all directions. Any group member that can fly may be slightly restricted depending on the range of the force bubble so it may be worth testing it to see how far the group can spread out before being EX-TER-MIN-ATED!

The only people who’ll remain in the TARDIS is Tony and Eve who have work to do. We’ll get back to them don’t worry. Meanwhile Kang, Namor, Sue, and Super-skrull (as the Doctor) will walk out of the TARDIS. To get some Dalek attention Kang will activate his time belt and soon enough we should be swarmed by Daleks ordered by the cult to In-ves-ti-gate (hey this is fun). When Daleks arrive they’ll all crap themselves when they see ‘Thheeeee Doctarrrrrr’ and most likely open fire. The extrapolator will protect the group from any lethal firepower as the Daleks call in reinforcements to take down their greatest enemy. They can scan him and not recognise him as enemy but they will recognise him as alien and they should be so scared that they just assume this is the real deal.

The group should soon be surrounded by Daleks and they’re going to open fire. We should be able to take out a few Daleks using this method while remaining protected under the protection of the extrapolator force field. I’m not expecting to take them all down like this but I want the majority of them in the one place and cutting their numbers while we’re at it.

Meanwhile back inside the TARDIS Tony and Eve are working on a makeshift Phantom Zone portal. Tony had initially suggested the Negative Zone but then Wonder Woman provided a much better alternative. Tony’s a smart guy and the TARDIS should be filled with more than enough equipment to put this thing together. Eve will be there to help (her vast knowledge of advanced math and to turn one thing into another will be of great assistance, after all if we don’t have the right part she can turn a bucket into a zone dimensional whatsit)

As said before this’ll take time which is why the team outside is giving us a massive distraction. In order to get even more Daleks on the scene ‘The Doctor’ will smile and throw a fireball. This won’t harm a Dalek of course but it’ll make them poo their pants at the prospect that the Doctor can now suddenly ‘generate pyrokinetic force!’ or whatever.

When the device is complete (it shouldn’t take more than 3 hours max) Iron Man will open the TARDIS doors the group outside will retreat inside. Iron Man will then give the device to Kang for inspection and he’ll go back outside solo and activate it. As he does Kang’s going to vanish inside a time portal before getting sucked into the Phantom Zone. Some side effects of this may include the device sucking in nearby plant life or civilians but hey they shouldn’t be standing around watching a big fight. Hopefully the extrapolator will prevent the TARDIS from getting sucked in as well but if it does it shouldn’t be too hard for the team to figure out how to get them back. In fact one of the Doctor’s emergency programs may activate and take us back, man wouldn’t that be handy?

The Daleks won’t be able to get back because their emergency temporal shift is extremely limited and not 10% as powerful as the TARDIS so they can spend eternity shouting EX-TER-MIN-ATE while General Zod shouts ‘Kneel before Zod!’

When we get back (assuming we get sucked in) Kang will arrive back and we can take down any lingering Daleks with the Dalek enhanced Thompson machine guns. That or they might self destruct at the sight of the Doctor knowing the day is lost.

If they weren’t sucked into the rift I fully expect the Cult Of Skarro to put up a fight but after finding they literally can’t touch my team they should do their ‘emergency temporal shift’ trick and hopefully they 90’s comics land, indeed a fate worse than death to most fan-boys.

Any given sunday, people. Any. Given. Sunday.

Purplepants was...interesting, to say the least. Sometimes it works out that way.

However, Team Chronos came up with a complex, detailed, and extremely effective plan of action for how to beat the Daleks.

Team Chronos for the win.

pssh... who needs to actually beat their enemy when one can just add them to his forces while only sacrificing one whelp of a teammate?

I'm holding my vote in case there's a tie-breaker needed. Plus it's the weekend.

I'm holding my vote in case there's a tie-breaker needed. Plus it's the weekend.

But it's playoffs! And there's Daleks!

Probably a good idea on your part. I'm just trying to drum up interest. :)

Yeah, I'll totally bump again 'cause it's the playoffs.
Even though it'd be funny to see what would be required in case of a tie.

There won't be. Funk saved his vote in case of a tie, and would probably vote ten minutes before it closes.

I can't wait for the Jungle Round on Friday.

See, neither Doc or I can participate in that until we know the outcome of this, which is ALSO on Friday.
If I have enough free time, I might write up a plan. But there's really not enough time in between for either of us. Of course, we both have already had our shot, so I might not even try at all and focus on rooting on those remaining.

I wandered into this thread by accident and am usually not really a big fantasy league person but this is pretty interesting. I'll have to sign up for the next one.

Oh I vote for Kronos by the way.
