If Randy did a FS NOVA, which pose would you prefer? Museum or Flying?

My one concern about the flying version is my Human Torch statue chipped after displaying it for awhile and then separating the two pieces to dust. :( (How I wish I could get a professional, such as Randy, to fix it for me.) :D

Yeah, the Human Torch inserts into the flame/base. I think because it had been out for awhile, the pressure of it being out, I just took the two apart when I probably should have lifted up gently, releasing the pressure built up. Instead, just yanked it out then looked stupidly when I realized what I'd done.

You guys know that Randy's only going to make one! Hopefully, he'll do a modern version as well!

I voted action cause of this. A sculptor on another forum was working on it sometime back.

I think that's a good start, but I'd like to see him flying on an angle, like the Torch.

Frankly, i'm thrilled he's being made at all. I'd just wish Randy would take a stab at the more exotic action pose first. I'd buy both if that were an option.

I asked him to make a quick sketch of a flying pose. We'll see. I just think this could be a MAJOR seller for Bowen if it's done with a lot of thought! I see Randy's thought in the initial sketch...he'll go great next to Warlock & Captain Marvel. The only thing is...they're Starlin-type-cosmic characters. Rich Rider wasn't really "cosmic" until recently. Plus, he has nothing to do with Starlin's guys really.

I generally prefer museum poses for a couple of reasons. First, I like to compare the scale of large characters to the smaller ones and sort of line them up. I know, a little odd, but the other one is display space. I would take either one for Nova as I love this character, but I echo the sentiments of those who express concern about breakage on a flying sculpt.

Well, his stories weren't star spanning until the Annihilation Conquest, but his powers, costume, origin and everything else that makes him the "human rocket" is definately cosmic! He would look absolutely fabulous next to all of the Captain Marvels, Warlock, Thanos, the Surfer, and a Gladiator Imperial Guard FS...;-)

But...it wouldn't make sense. He would look better next to Spider-Man than a cosmic character. They at least spent time together!

I tend to go for the museum poses, easier to display and they look more iconic.

For me, this is no-brainer: the Nova No. 1 cover flying version is THE Nova I'd want. :) It's as iconic as the Avengers 57 cover pose of the Vision.

I'm a big enough Nova fan to justify buying both, but I think a museum pose would display with the other cosmic statues better, guys like Mar-vell, Warlock, Surfer and Thanos (and, incidentally, Randy's classic Spider-Man FS). But I agree a museum sculpt would need a different pose from Warlock and Mar-vell. I'd like to see Rich stoic, hands at his sides in fists as though ready to rocket through the ceiling in a flash.

To qualify my opinion and input:
1. I'm NOT a huge fan of the particular character (though don't dislike him either);
2. Though I still have many busts of "cosmic" characters (which, to me, Nova IS - despite my recollection of the character dating back to the 70's when he was a bit more earthbound), I don't have a high degree of interest to devote sufficient display space to too many "cosmic" FS;
3. Normally, NOT always, I prefer musuem poses over action, but inevitable purchase is determined on:
a. What may be available at that time IF I want a FS of that character that badly (Storm and Rogue come to mind - I may have preferred musuem pose over what was released, but hey, I got what was available);
b. The actual sculpt (if the action pose looks THAT good, I'm gettin' it!);
c. What else I have to display the particular piece with - if the other "like" FS I already have are one way or the other (musuem vs. action), I would prefer comparable for the piece under consideration.
As such . . . though I think a musuem pose would look great, especially if displayed with the majority of the other already-released "cosmic" FS, my ONLY current "cosmic" FS is the recently-released Silver Surfer, and therefore the ONLY FS Nova I would buy (at least unless/until I have one helluva lot more display space available) would be an action/flying pose, preferably in the Annihilation armor. And, yes, my interest is quite a departure from my normal preferences ("old school" Bronze/Silver Age).
Hope all you more-legit Nova fans get what you want. ROCK(ET) ON!!
