AUSTIN -- A Texas State Capitol employee was arrested Friday for throwing egg salad at a Secret Service agent conducting security for the Barack Obama rally in Downtown Austin.
FOX 7 News cameras were there and captured the egg-salad incident on tape. CLICK HERE to watch video of the scuffle with secret service agent.
According to an arrest affidavit, 47-year-old Tracy Firsching was trying to cross a barrier that police set up for Obama's 'Stand for Change' rally Friday night. The warrant says Firsching started to go around the barrier when a Secret Service agent stopped her. The agent told Firsching she could not go into the secured area.
The warrant shows that Firsching told the agent, "You're going to have to arrest me." As she attempted to get past the agent, he grabbed Firsching by the arm to turn her around. The affidavit shows she then threw a plastic bowl of egg salad at his face. The agent received a scratch during the incident.
Firsching has been charged with assault on a public servant, a third degree felony. She faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.
