My in-laws have a cable modem connected to a D-Link VOIP box and a D-Link wireless router. For some reason, they can see and connect to the wireless signal with an XP laptop, but can't bring up a web page in the browser. They also have an iMac connected through an Ethernet cable, and that's working ok.
Both the VOIP box and router have jack inputs for WAN.
The way they have it connected so that the phone works is:
Cable Modem > VOIP > Wireless Router > Computer
If I put the Router before the VOIP box, the phone doesn't work.
Is the VOIP box causing a conflict with ports needed for the wireless Internet?
Could I put an Ethernet switch after the Cable Modem help?
Cable Modem > Ethernet Switch > Router
>> VOIP box
