In all seriousness, I love this book. It's loud, dumb and fun. For fans of Millar/Hitch's run (which I'm one of), it was incredibly amazing, and a deliciously decadent social and political satire/action flick in comic form. Milllar's run was more contemporary superhero deconstructionism/hyper-realism in the age of trash/pop media. Loeb's run is completely embracing the modular and template of classic ensemble superhero books - light on character development, heavy on action - and just having fun while giving Joe Mad great visual fodder for his kinetic pencils.

That said, if you dug Millar's Ultimates and loathe Loeb's issues thus far, then consider the saga ended at v.2 and move on. These are corporate owned characters who, beyond a structured outline; a character skeleton, are adaptable blank slates with costumes and certain character quirks. Loeb's not bastardizing anything.

Agreed. If we can agree to disagree about the current Spider-Man direction (I say that fully expecting the horde of those praising BND and waving the flaming effigies of the Parker-Watson marriage license), Ultimates 3 should be no different. No book's for everybody.
