Nope, nope, annnnd nope. okay lete's get the clues a little less vague....
Skrull #11 CLUE #2: This character has assumed more than one identity in their lifetime (not counting their actual birth name)

Is it Stature?

Spidey616 guessed twice-- FOUL! I demand you throw any previously won onions away as penance!
not Cap... not spidey

Hmmmmmmmmmm could this be a subtle clue as to the 11th Skrull? If so, my guess is Robbie Baldwin formerly known as Speedball now known as.....

PENANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/Tbolts/Penance.jpg

Well, that certainly would explain a lot that's going on with Captain Emo now ;)

Okay let's see--
1 This character's first love is dead.
2 This character has assumed more than one identity in their lifetime (not counting their actual birth name)

Looks like someone here doesn't read Young Avengers!

And you call yourself a Marvelite Greg :mistrust: Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung would be ashamed. I just hope Jimmy doesn't read this forum, after sitting next to him at that convention.

Ok, based on those clues, the only person that vaguely comes close to all 3 is Carol Danvers aka Ms. Marvel aka Warbird aka Binary. I know it's more of a blue than black costume, but it's all I got.

I know we saw her Skrullified in Ms. Marvel #25, but I'd like to see the top half of that pic :D

CLUE #5: The character is closely related to one of ClintP's favorite characters
CLUE #6 Some would say the character has had mental problems in the past.

Ok, I think I got it. I remember way way back (in a galaxy far far away) I made an Irredeemable Ant-Man reference in a Wii thread Greg made, wherein ClintP professed his LOVE for the now cancelled series.

I got it, but I am one of the biggest fans of that series.

With that, it can only be one person.

HENRY PYM aka
Ant-Manaka
Goliath
aka
Giant Mannow
YELLOW JACKET

Ok you gots to tells me Greg! This was my guess for the Luke Cage one after that exhausting wikipedia research and I think i got it
1) Henry Pym is a biochemist initially married to a Hungarian woman, Maria Trovaya, who is later killed by the Hungarian Secret Police.(WOW! The more you know ;))
2) Half Black Costume
3) Can fly, sometimes
4) Mental problems.
5) More than one name
IT HAS TO BE HANK! Was this one of the ones inspired by a post on this thread, if so, was it my earlier Yellowjacket guess :D

Okay okay, let's not come to blows. First of all Hackenbush gets half an onion because he did guess Hank pym about 3 hours ago (with only two clues no less!).. of course i was looking for his exact superhero name because Hank pym has been like 4 different characters. Second of all, on the issue of flying: are you telling me Yellowjacket cannot fly?! I'm holding a book right now where he is over some dude's head and giving him a "stinger" blast. .....okay, i just read his bio where it says his "artificial wings enable him to fly" (but this is an old marvel handbook i have) .
3rd of all, I'm pretty sure ClintP has professed his love of Ant-man a few times on this forum, so that's what that crazy clue was all about. 4th of all, how come Dr. Hackenbush always guesses correctly whenever the character is a doctor...it's just weird....
Are you guys okay with splitting the award? Or do we need to organize a no-holds barred Extreme fighting match between the two of you?

Nah, I'm cool. Hackenbrush was technically the first one afterall. :)

The first clue "first love is dead" was a tricky one. I didn't even know Hank was married earlier. Wow. But the ClintP, mental problems, numerous names, should have been obvious.

But yeah can't wait for this one. This is a character I've been wanting to see Skrullified since these Skrull pics were released. Mark Brooks did a cover for A:TI #14 featuring a Skrull Yellowjacket, so I wonder how yours will compare. Hope it's as a creepy as the previous pics.

That just sounds funny to me--i know it shouldn't but it does. Yellowjacket looks totally psycho right!? I wanted to make him a match for Invisible Woman. I had a personal debate on this Skrull...whether or not to put his little antennae instead of the Skrull ears...i thought that would help identify him better. Also, under normal circumstances, you can't see his eyes through the dark goggles, but i thought i could get away with it since he is half Skrull--perhaps the goggles are in the process of morphing out, you know? i guess the big question is: can you tell this is Yellowjacket without somebody telling you it is him?

Interesting you mention the eyes/goggles: I knew instantly it was Yellowjacket, but I thought it was the original Yellowjacket outfit from the Hank/Jan wedding back in (original) Avengers #59-60 from 1968....that outfit did not have goggles either.

The Napoleonic style characters behind me were done as part of a redesign of Stratego. Unfortunately, the game is only sold overseas by a company in das Netherlands, so nobody has ever seen it (including me). I'm going to the big Spiel show in Essen Germany later this year. Its a big toy show, so if i see the game there i am going to get about 10 of em. My neighbors posed as all the soldiers so i really want to get them all a game of their own.

You can see the whole project at my website..try this link.....

We had pieces of flimsy cardboard, with little plastic pieces on it that you had to move.... by hand! And sure, we all developed bursitic calcium deposits in our joints--the pain was almost unbearable. But, we LIKED IT!! And ya wanna know why, you little snot nosed punks? Because it was all we had, dag gummit! "
Yes i am a fan of Dana Carvey's "mean old man"

That picture just about sums up my average con experience...I'm probably not all there yet--see how i'm just staring out into the void? My name tag's even upside down--funny.

You can see the whole project at my website..try this link.....
http://greghornjudge.com/HTM_PAGES/04_books_&_games_htms/Stratego_Board_game_2.htm

So your neighbors posed for those pictures, eh? Including the portrait of the seductive hottie next to your head?

Are there any houses for sale in your neighborhood??? ;)

But, she's okay now--we just had to wait for it to wear off. anyway, if anybody is up early today, here's the clues
CLUE 1 This is the character suggested on this very board!
CLUE 2 This character is a non-female.
CLUE 3 This character is one of Marvel Comics oldest human characters if you go by his date of birth

Damn you for letting them ruin my glory! Did the conversation go like this at Marvel?

Horn: This guy named ClintP off the internets saw my images and suggested we add another, namely Nick Fury. What do you think guys?
Bendis!: Damn! Why didn't I think of that?
Jim@Marvel: We can't have it leaked out that Bendis the Almighty failed to see that Nick Fury would make for an awesome skrull teaser image with him being out of the Marvel U so long.
Bendis!: What are we going to do guys?
Jim@Marvel: I say we run with it and start up a smear campaign against this lowly internet poster. What is he going to do, get his 10 Ant-Man fans and attack us?
Horn: But guys, I don't think that...
Bendis!: SILENCE YOU!
Jim@Marvel: BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Bendis!: HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
Horn: Ooo. Is that Blue's Clues?

Would you do a Skrull?
We had a very serious discussion about this a few months ago...
http://www.606studios.com/bendisboard/showthread.php?t=122165
I posted the question on Bendis' board too but I could'nt get a straight answer out of any of those knuckle-heads. They kept giving me the run-around...something about how a Skrull can take on the form of any woman you desire, yadda yadda. That's not the point at all! OF COURSE you would do a Skrull if she could turn into your dream woman in an instant. That's no question at all. I'm talkin' about a green-skinned, ape-faced, jacked-up, spinach-chin Skrull!!
When you think it through, the answer is no.

....right?

COMEON ON PEOPLE! Let's get this thread going again! We're already at post #385, and I know we can make it to #400! Who's with me! :D

So....anyone read SI yet?
I know Greg hasn't and won't. He just likes the covers and sometimes the pretty pictures inside. ;)
I agree with Spidey616!!!! Why stop now? There's no reason we can't make it to 400! After that we can go for 4000 posts on the Who do you trust thread and after that... 4 million!!!! THINK BIG!

We're so close! I can almost see the 400th post!

Still waiting on that LAST Skrull Greg. Any word on when we'll see it?

PS: I made sure to stock up on the blank SI covers, so 2 weeks at the NYCC be prepared with an out of this world Skrull image in your head for your friendly Neighborhood Spidey-616 ;)

Hilarious!!!! Especially the first two! I didn't actually get the second two, but it doesn't matter. The first two MORE than make up for it! Well played, sir!

3) This Skrull was late to the party. He showed up after Cap died. So, I pictured the guy sitting around on his couch, relaxing, eating chips, when he realizes, "OH CRAP, I'm late!" .. he hurries up, gets to Earth, only to see on the TV that Cap has died.

4) It's a parody of TITANIC and what teenaged girls were probably yelling at the screen at the end of the film.

Ohhhhh.... it's O.K., Greg! I'm sure some club soda will get those poop stains right out of my pants. Besides, you know I can't stay mad at you. Not when you create covers like that Ms. Marvel #29! Hubba hubba! ;-)

(Also, joking aside, that is an AMAZING portrait of a Skrull. Easily, the scariest damn Skrull I've ever seen. I think it's great that Marvel, in general, and you, in particular, are making the Skrulls a force to be feared!)

See, my boss and officemates are on assignment in a wonderful island province, sunning themselves on the beach in between work while I man the fort. So what do I do? I'm gonna mess up their wallpapers so that first thing they see when they switch on their PC's is one of Horn's beauties. Since they're all, ahem, ladies, I think Sue and that nasty last Skrull will do fine.

As much as I love the new creepy and scary looks Bendis and everyone at Marvel is doing with the Skrulls, I kinda have a soft spot for the old school designs with the baby faces and bottle eyes. Like in the last issue of Ms. Marvel #25 with the flashbacks drawn by Ron Frenz. So cute :)

Looks like I painted a total of 14 Skrulls.... and you have posted 14 Confirmed Skrulls (in one way or another). I always figured they were all going to be Skrulls. When people would ask me at shows about which ones were the real Skrulls, i always reckoned that all of them were going to be Skrulls because it didn't make any sense for Marvel Comics to have me illustrate characters that were NOT going to be Skrulls. Make any sense?

You never know, Marvel has a history of throwing false leads out there. Remember when the picture of Iron Man's armor painted red, white and blue and holding a shield "leaked out" before the end of Civil War, making it look like Captain America won.

Awesome. So has Marvel given you any clue what your next project will be?

Oh and also is it at all possible if you can sell me that Ms Marvel lightbox? I could do that whole putting the hand through her thing all day long.
Can't sell you the lightbox, m'man. It wasn't mine in the first place!

I TRUST JIM McCANN!!!
For those who have not heard the spectacular news, Jim McCann now has a board at Jinxworld! Aside from being the guy who chose me to paint all the Skrulls for Who Do You Trust?, he is really a swell fellow...especially for a guy with unlimited knowledge and powers....
Here's a link to his new board--go say "HI"

Considering that Jim recommended me for the Who Do you trust? AND "EMBRACE CHANGE" projects I'd say the probability of anything Skrully is possible! Actually, i had not heard about Jim's mini-series until you just posted it. But, I am pretty experienced with Skrulls arn't I? Along with She-Hulk i feel like I've been painting green characters for two years straight!!

So if anyone ever talks to you about the environment, you can already say that you've gone Green. (ba-da-bum)
