Just saw his new batch of colored pages today, and boy, am I grateful that he is coloring this issue.
I really wish I could post a page or 2 here, but like Brian said, every page is pretty much a spoiler.
Also, picked up #38 at the comic store yesterday, and it looks stunning.
Good job Gaydos, and Jose!

This should give Maleev's issue (26?) a run for its money. I can't wait.

Villarubia is great. His colors tend to be very moody and atmospheric, I think.

I wonder what's the motivation for making Echo a Skrull.

I'm excited about seeing your versions of the Avengers! Any chance you get to do Spidey in the issue?

I just love seeing Gaydos illustrating Jessica and Luke.
Jose Villarubia is AMAZING! He did a Promothea sketch for me and signed the book he did with Alan Moore. I don't think you could ask for a better colorist, should be fun seeing his work on your art.
New Avengers is firing on all cylinders. Bendis took it up a notch with Yu's arc and just keeps raising the bar with each issue.

Are you going to have pages at Wondercon?

This thread is useless without pics!
....d-did I do it right? (I mean, I know we're not talking about sexy co-workers or nude pictures of friends girlfriends or anything, but, still...)

I'd love to, but I can't put the original art on casual display at Wondercon, because the pages have spoilers.
But maybe I can bring them and let you see them in private if you promise not to talk about it :)

That would be ORsome... but please don't go out of your way or anything.

Consider it done.
Actually, remind me before the con if you think of it :)
You're such a tease! I look forward to the book, though...I look more forward to the book

I'm looking forward to this. It's been awhile that you have done comic work that you haven't fully painted, so this will be interesting (though I have no doubt that it'd kick ass)

they truly are. But it's my usual greatness, whereas you pulled a tough one on those pages and came out a clear winner.

Aw!
Well that is sweet of you to say...
But I love the pages of yours I saw, in even more splendor than your usual greatness. Very realistic.
It actually made me wonder if I had went a little too comic-booky on the pages I had just worked on.
And I think it helped me tighten up some stuff and blend realism with the Marvel style a little better in other scenes I was doing.

dave, it'd be impossible for anyone to make your art look bad.
you are a hell of an artist, and i can't imagine how good the pairing of you and villarubia will look.
definitely looking forward to this book.
