Wasn't there a recent Spider-Man Family story about this FF team or something like that?

because the characters aren't necessarily in a place where that same team would get together.

not sure what hulk's status is, post WWH, but i don't know how much he'd be up for this kind of team up.

ghost rider isn't the same character that was in there, and the champions of los angeles aside, the blaze ghost rider doesn't really lend itself to team ups.

spidey's got his own issues.

wolverine is (according to some) on too many teams already.

well ultimatum is coming up in the UMU...why not ultimize the team...

or just give them an out of continuity mini...

or use chaos magic...or mephisto magic...any number of possibilities to get these guys together

It was a What If. I believe I read somewhere that there might still be plans to publish it.

That's an actual 90s What If? issue, so I don't think it's the same thing.

...in fact, mere hours before the cardiac episode that took his life, Mike posted the page at the left to Marvel's FTP server, for a WHAT IF story he had been working on.

Well since Spider-Man is working in cahoots with Mephisto, that seems like the perfect setup.

shhhhh.....you don't want to lure WinstonWolf and DS9 into this discussion where they derail it by adding nothing at all.

I'm preempting their involvement in this thread by stealing their thunder. They've been beaten to the punch.

revealed in an issue of spider-man to be lies, i believe. then the character rode off into character limbo, and hasn't been heard from since.

An issue of Spider-Man? When? I've read just about every Spider-Man comic in recent history and don't remember this.

they also released the "lost, final" issue of the old ghost rider series about a year ago, which supposedly cleared all that zarathos/ king of hell stuff.

the "new FF" was a cool team. and it is skrulltastic.

ooh, in that book, reed (and the other 3) were replaced by skrulls.

hmm.

Depends on your definition of recent. It was about ten years ago, by Howard Mackie.

Ah, here it is.

Because, as much as I loved those issues, the idea is idiotic.

I remember in college Erik Larsen wrote an issue of Wolverine that had the team back together in the Age of Apocolypse. It was pretty good, and they all wore Fantastic Four uniforms.

i thought my memory served me correctly and it had something to do with skrulls (the storyline)...while i was thinking about this last night i had not recently read the story just wished they were brought back for an arc in something...

nah, i'm a realist.

i enjoyed that team, and wouldn't mind seeing a story with them again. they just aren't in the place in the current marvel u to put that team together.
