I just got back from the con. Maleev was cool and did a quick little Hellboy sketch in my copy of his sketchbook.

I wish I'd had the money for a full sketch!

Alex said today that he was sick of doing DD and other male characters and wished that people would ask for more female characters, so I changed my mind and got him to do Elektra.

Alex will have a table (table # will be announced shortly) in artist alley where he will be doing his thing all weekend long. Commissions, sketching etc. etc.
As for signings!!!!

Alex will be signing exclusively once a day at the 1,000,000 COMIX Booth (#502)
Signing times will be posted at the booth. Or I will list them here once I get the signing times and a full schedule completed.

Many of our big guests have tables in artist ally, but in order to maximize their time at their tables. So they can sketch and do as many commissions as possible during the three days of the con. We have them sign in the signing area.
Or in Alex’s case he will be signing at the 1,000,000 COMIX booth once a day.

Thanks for the sigs, Alex. I wish I'd gotten there sooner, 'cos you sketchbooks were sold out by the time I arrived on Saturday. Boohoo.

Also, while I'm wishing, I wish I'd had an extra $200 for a sketch.

I was at the con all three days, and managed to catch Alex at both his "Tells it like it is" panel and his Art Duel with Tim Sale.

Both events were pretty cool, Alex was very down to earth and dryly funny. I went with a couple of friends who aren't terribly into superheroes, but they both now count themselves as fans of his. If you get a chance to see him at a con in the future, you should take it.

Also, his Batman painting from the art duel was spectacular, and they gave it away at the end of the panel. The guy who won it was decidedly underwhelmed, and that was just about the most heart-breaking thing I saw all weekend. I wish I had a pic, but they only showed it on the overhead projector for a few seconds.

I was 3 away from the Sale one. The guy who won that one was lost and didn't know either artist. He asked me if it would be okay if he sat in on "whatever was going on" before the panel began. Two seats over from me. The fates are cruel.

Great Batman. I miss the NML saga, Alex did some really good work there.
