To all those naysers who posted on a thread on newsarama that thought Greg couldn't draw with a pen and/or pencil.....BOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, those are AWESOME!!!! I wish I had a dad who would get me a Greg Horn original. All I'm stuck with is a ruined copy of Fallen Son #3 with a cover drawn by Dan Slott.....a writer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymm000I9gS0:( ;) I kidd. I kiddd! :D
Looking at those pics, I can't wait for this years NYCC, wherein Greg will be making his 3rd Artist Alley appearance in a row, and made a promise to a certain fan, a Greg Horn original ;)

I have a nice Black Cat sketch by Horn that I will scan if I ever have time...
To all those naysers who posted on a thread on newsarama that thought Greg couldn't draw with a pen and/or pencil..... ;)
Are those buttholes on Newsarama up to their old tricks again? Don't they know that an artist can't even get through the conceptual phase of a cover without submitting drawn out ideas to an editor? It speaks to their complete misunderstanding of how designing a cover works. They so dum. They probably got one of my 1-minute headsketches at a con and are lashing out because it wasn't a masterpiece. Hey Spidey, do me a favor: go back on there and post some of my commissioned sketches. Whatever you do, don't write anything...they are just trolling for an arguement. But, it's really tough to argue with a jpeg isn't it?

Those are pretty damn slick Greg. That She-Hulk one kind of looks like that chick that everyone from the board loves (from veronica mars) in the face.
The bottom one looks like Alyssa Milano in the face.

Mission accomplished Greg :)
It's true what they say, the pen really is mightier than the sword ;)
Now if I can just decide whether to bring a blank cover of Fallen Son #3, or a special blank cover of Secret Invasion #1 to the NYCC.....:Ponder: Hmmmmmmmmm I sure would love a Skrull Shulkie or Ms. Marvel original......:D

Thanks Clint! The She-Hulk's a totally made up face. The bottom most drawing is a sketch from my creator owned book called J.U.D.G.E.(from way back in 1999). My wife Betsy played the lead character on that book, but now getting her to pose for me is like pulling teeth...she's a mom now.

I actually have the originals of those She-Hulk and Black Cat commissions. They were sold as part of one of Wizard World Texas VIP packages.
I met you at Orlando this weekend and told you to come post them on the forum....but, i had forgotten that I had already posted them a month earlier! I so dumb. Anyway, welcome to the board my friend.

OK here's a pic of a print I got from Greg at the 1st NYComicCon in 2006, this is the artwork that first turned me on to Greg's stuff.

Here's a close up of the awesome Avengers #186 recreation (this was a total surprise, Greg just came up with the idea himself):

Greg can give you the details, but basically Greg's recreation of the Avengers #187 cover was done for a Marvel "Backpack" : Nights of Wundagore in 2001.

Yep. This "backpack" cover is the 2nd I ever did for Marvel Comics! I was an unknown quantity at the time, and I guess they were scared i'd screw up a REAL book! So, my first 9 paintings were all covers for reprint issues. They are probably pretty hard to find now. After that, They decided to put me on Elektra and that was a very good thing! :)

So there you have it..my first 4 covers... Thanks Steve! I think my paintings of Spider-man have come a long way since then. Of course it is different because my later paintings of Spidey were the movie costume versions that i did for Wizard. But that first painting of Spider-man made me realize just how tough a character he is to illustrate! You really have to get the pose right or it is not going to work.

I don't know...he was doing the artwork on Elektra and then I think War Machine...then he switched over to writing. Wonder what he is working on now?
You guys realize that he drew the infamous nude issue of Elektra right?

Yeah....I've got that issue (#3 or 4) as a DF autographed by the cover artist (whoever the heck that was). It's one of those "oooooooooooooo" books! I might just have more things in my house signed by Greg than I have with my own handwriting on it! Boy.....fanboy, thy name is....me!
