Nice response from fans on this one-- and how could there not be, with the way Liam's art has kicked so much ass? So here's the official place to talk and ask questions about all things LH & E.

Now here's what you guys can expect in the next 3 issues (Yeah, I said 3-- as in 6, total. I have no clue where some people are getting 8 ):

-- issue 4 has the origin of Dreamslayer
-- In issue 4, Diehard starts to sow the seeds of mutiny within the Extremists ranks
-- issue 4 is also our "game changing" issue-- somebody will do something that changes EVERYTHING.
-- issue 5 has the origin of Dr Diehard
-- in issue 5, somebody switches sides
-- issue 6 has the origin of Lord Havok himself (and the best of the lot, IMO)
-- issue 6 also sees the final confrontation between Monarch and his army, the Meta Milita, and LH and the Extremists-- and trust me when I say this, it's a DOOZY

Really liked the first issue, but because cash I have to trade wait the rest of the series.:surrend:

I might have to pick up issue 4 just for the Dreamslayer origin.

So were you surprised? That one startled me... :scared:

Just finished Lord Havok mini! Was very good even though I was a little confused with where it was heading in issues 2 and 3. The final issue Lord Havok's origin issue was one of the better stories of the year. Had the Extremist's origins been mentioned previously in any of there past appearances, or was that all something just for the mini?

Yeah... don't think a lot of people thought that Dreamslayer was a chick. Or that we were going to whack Diehard. Or that Havok was a deformed cripple under his armor.

Which was good. Which was what we wanted-- and why a lot of people enjoyed the series by the time it was all said and done as much as they did

Thanks, Storme-- glad you dug it. As far as you not knowing where we were heading after issues 2 and 3? Well, that's not necessarily a bad thing. A good story often takes you on a ride with twists and turns you don't expect-- and if we did that for you, then I think we did our job.

The original Extremists had their own origins that were seperate than those of these revamped newer versions of the characters. These new origins though were in fact completely new and seen for the first time in this series

Especially, honestly, when it was a crossover event with another crossover event in whose story they'd already wrapped up. I vaguely thought they were all dead or something but keeping track of Countdown, Arena, etc. hasn't been easy. (I hope DC learns from this!!) Knowing that they're still around to do stuff is very good and surprising.

As I am a Wolvie fan I particularly liked Tracer -- he's a much more empathetic character than, say, Sabretooth, who wound up a very two-dimensional sort over at Marvel before his current deceased state. Though all of them wound up with sympathetic elements to them and the note of tragedy which makes a good villain.
