It was #85-86 and it wasn't Galactus.

X-Men Unlimited #37 did something similar.

The 90s Spider-Man cartoon had a story arc that pitted several alternate reality Spider-Men against a Spider-Man that was taken over by Carnage. They had an Iron Man Spider-Man, a Spider-Man with Doc Ock's arms (the lamest one), the actor who played Spider-Man in the real world, and Ben Reilly.

kirkman kinda did it in invincible. the dude that gets all the versions of himself from alternate realities together. (in the vol 2 hc. i don't know more beyond that since i just got that one).
