View Full Version : My Roomate's boyfriend pissed on my couch

And then denied it! I couldn't believe what I saw as it was going on, and from my half naked state in bed at 5:30 am, I was in no position to run across the house while he was in the act. BUt lo and behold, couch full of piss. I barged in her room and told him to leave, and told him why, and they both denied he did it. I then threatened to kick the shit out of him if he didin't go.
So he is either
A: Lying
B: Sleep Pissed.
I then physically kicked him out twice after he mouthed off about it, and then let him back in after I cooled down, telling him that I believe he did it - but if he truely can't remember doing it then I won't hold him at fault for doing something in his sleep. He is playing the victum the entire time, in between spurts of mouthing off.
But he did, and I saw it, and now my roomate hates me and I am dreading some retaliation since I will be in the city the next 4 days.
Nonsense, someone pisses on my couch and I become the bad guy? It is a hard situation to keep your cool in, and I think I had every right to be heated.
It is going to be a lllloooonnnggg 30 days until I move out.

Yeah, at least I didn't plan on moving the couch when I move. It is the roomates problem now.
But like I said - LOOOONNNGGG 30 days coming up.

I've sleep pissed before. I was dreaming that I was walking around the house bumping into things. The next morning I discovered a huge bruise on my shoulder, a puddle of urine outside my bedroom door, and that I had changed my PJs in the middle of the night.

Did you bring in the damp couch cushions? It seems to me that when confronted with the evidence it's pretty obvious that SOMEONE in the house pissed on the couch. Did they accuse you of doing it? If not, it's either her, her boyfriend, or the Breaking and Entering Couch Pissing Bandit.

I took them both to the living room, and he tried to blame it on the cat. Cat's don't piss THAT much. Then he claimed that if he pissed in his sleep it would have been messier. Then he claimed I don't care about anything because my room is messy and I tried to set him up! Yeah, all signs kind of point to him. I wish I would have grabbed him when I saw him doing the deed, but he was just finishing and I was just waking up, so I thought my mind was playing tricks on me.
It is so absured I wish I was making it up.

I sleep pissed once when I was a kid. Just walked out to the living room in front of my parents, dropped trou. and went. So it is possible. But either way, something needs to be done, he either needs to take responsibility and help clean/get a new couch or something.

I did that once when I was little too.
Instead of making a right turn from my bedroom to the bathroom, I made a left turn into my parents bedroom. I pissed in their garbage pale.

Fuck it, my girlfriends place is already furnished. I planned on leaving the couch behind when I move anyway. Guess I will just sit on the floor and glare at the two of them for the rest of the month. He has no income, he is a trustfund baby in a touring band. An Angle. Anyone heard of them? I hate their music even more now. The only way I want him to make this right is to stay out of my way the next month and not try any bullshit retaliation tactics because he is still acting like I wronged him somehow.

Isn't An Angle some whiny, Bright Eyes wannabe band? I know I've heard that name before, probably when I lived in Sacramento.
And yeah, I hate trust fund babies.

You're worried that they're going to engage in retalitory actions against you for...him pissing on your couch.
There is no overreacting about it. It sounds as though you eventually tried diplomacy (when you stated that you wouldn't hold it against him if he sleep-urinated) and yet, he still refused to accept any responsibility.
Try to drop as many references of his band sucking in any and all conversations that transpire between the two of you in the next thirty days.

I would just suggest you have the couch cleaned and from now on get some plastic covers for the couch for whenever he comes over. Maybe punch him in the back of the head once for good measure.

I think I am just going to try to keep the peace, I have nothing to gain from any of this. If I was living there long term I would be 100x more pissed (ha! get it!) but I already have enough to worry about. I am just curious how this story is going to play out around town. Sacramento is small, and he and I know plenty of people in the same circles. I am hoping that by the time I get back next week, the situation has diffused... but man... he pissed on MY fucking couch. Who walks into another room, pulls out their dick, and actually urinates on a man's couch? Christ almighty, what kind of world do we live in. More importantly, what kind of men does my roomate date?

Just got off the phone with the roomate, she doesn't hold me accountable for being angry, and she doesn't hold him accountable for having an accident.
I guess that is all I can ask for.

This and more are reasons why I'm getting a single apartment. It's a little more expensive, but not having to deal with other people's shit like this makes it all worth it.

not dealing with their shit, or piss for that matter. Yes, if you can afford it, live alone. At one point I lived with 3 of my best friends in a four bedroom - and that was great. But all other living situations have been sub-par.

And another reason you should live alone:
My girlfriend's current roomate just gave her 1 day notice that she is moving out tommorow. I am not moving till the end of Jan, so that leaves my girl out 800.00! Jesus Christ, what happened to common decency in the world?

Girl at work, lives in the building next door. Her roommate up and got on a bus one day, taking her roomate's bank card, half the month's grocery money out of the account and her copy of the apartment key with her. Two weeks before rent was due, with no notice.
My friend had the bank card cancelled. However, she came home from work a couple nights later to find her door unlocked, the computer on, an MSN window open and a message saying "I'm watching you" on the screen from a username she'd never before seen in her life.
She called another friend up, got the fuck out, had the locks changed the next day and redid all her computer passwords and switched Internet providers to be safe.
She hasn't heard from the ex-roomie since.

Even better. Move in with your girl the day after tomorrow, save HER the money that you'd be giving to your current roommate (assuming you're renting space from her...which is what it sounds like) and leave your roommate and her couch-pissing boyfriend. Sounds like they don't respect you and this is what they deserve.
