Posted a week or so ago over a problem i was having with my new sequential. It's an important one since it's for DC and i've busted my balls over it. (this level of chaos isn't easy you know (; )
Of the three sequentials i've done: this is the one i'm happiest with. It's now in the hand of Mr Vertigo, so we shall see.

all comments welcome...

ps..thanks Scott and Jef for your support!

Me too!

Maybe a bit too trippy and psychedelic for John Constantine but dude you should SO draw a psychological acid thriller set in San Fransisco in 1967!!

Thanks guys.

mario - glad you like. Nice idea for a comic for me. As far as it being too trippy, i remember when the character first came out (in particular in swamp thing which was really trippy) it was really far out there visually. But i take your point that todays Constantine doesn't look like mine, but hey if you couldn't do new things with characters where would the fun be?

These pages look great. I always love your stuff. Not only are they pretty but you were also able to tell the story visually. If you don't need the dialog to tell what's going on you've done your job well. Good luck!

those are some beautiful pages christian. i don't think the storytelling is as clear as it could be. however, the colors are very stylish and really sell the presentation. i'm sure you'll get work somewhere soon. you should send these to chris ryall at IDW.

These are amazing. If they don't pick you up, they need to fire the guy who made that decision.

Or maybe not because then I can sucker you into doing more Robo mini-comics :D

Damn. If they don't hire you as at very least a colorist, they're high on the wrong shit.

Awesome samples. Those pages look more in line with Wildstorm than they do Vertigo. You should put them in front of one of their editors.

Wow Chris these are fantastic.

Your visual storytelling has really improved lately and these colors are probably the best I have seen from you yet.

Vertigo is going to love them.

Awesome pages, dude. I think I spotted Barney from the Simpsons in the bar there.

Yeah but Marvel shot down Ben Templesmith on Ghost Rider, so editors are indeed high on the wrong shit IMO. ;)

And I concur that these pages kick the ass :)

yeah i agree with everyone, those look totally awesome. the storytelling isnt at the same level as the presentation. youve got the colors and visuals locked down, id suggest really working hard on the directing and what moments you choose to make into panels, you know? that being said, i enjoy those pages more than a significant number of pro marvel/dc artists.

..keep the colors and lines..just make the people less surreal and more realistic..i think it would be a nice artistic contrast.

Hey guys,

heard back from vertigo...and they loved it...but not there just yet. Like whats been said here i have to work on my storytelling skills which is what i expected. But it has to be taken into aacount this is only my third ever comic! They loved the style, design and colour and going to send me another sample to work on. Also sounds like JH williams 3 is fighting my corner so thats pretty cool. Not there yet, but suddenly this feels do-able.

I'll take all your advice on board. oh and ...

Grendel -
if you've seen my illustration work on my websiye, thats exactly what i do there, i've avoided that route here, partially because that would involve a crap load of referance, but i'll keep it on board.

thanks for all the support.
