PRESS RELEASE: 12/06/2007
EXCELSIOR !!!
Bowen Designs has obtained a license renewal from Marvel to continue producing statues and mini-busts.
President and CEO Randy Bowen is quoted as saying:
“Holy Crap! I guess we’re gonna make more of this stuff!
I hope people still want more. This time we’re gonna go with some unusual designs, and character choices. The editions will probably be lower, but at least we’ll make it fun for the sculptors and collectors.
We were worried for a while there, as it took an amazingly long time to get this deal done this time around. We’re just happy to be making more items that have been requested by the fans.
To all our collectors who’ve been so patient about this announcement: Thank You!”
His company will continue to produce Marvel products in the same scale and price range that Bowen Designs fans have come to expect.

No, I've taken pictures of my bookshelves, which contained some of the Bowen statues I own. Unfortunately they are not all displayed so I've never taken a picture of all my Bowen's.

Statue: Spider-Woman!! The really nice one with the the Hydra base! It currently sits on my TV stand and judges me.

So do we think that the upcoming material will likely be busts and statues that compliment pre-existing statues and busts?
I remember that I sold my Black Bolt bust that I had since it was new one time when I had money troubles, thinking that they would never make any more Inhumans characters and they're pretty much made every name brand Inhuman but Maximus. So that was a ball-drop on my part.
Or will they re-do key characters that were made as part of the earlier runs and are largely unattainable to newer collectors? If you want to do X-men busts then getting that Cyclops is going to be a chore and a half. I noticed that we now have a brand new Green/ Grey Hulk and that was an early piece. We also have a great selection of Iron Man busts now.
Personally I think that doing characters that stand alone well, but also compliment existing themes is what I want to see this year. Or maybe start a new group to build upon like when Alpha Flight characters started a while ago.

I loved the Black Bolt statue, but because Bowen went down so far on the sculpt he appears REALLY tall to me. It's all in scale, but just comes off BIG.
I had hoped he'd do all the Inhumans in a way you could put them together to look like the cover to the first issue of the Jenkins/Jae Lee Inhumans book.

I have a feeling you'll see new busts and statues of top characters Bowen has already tackled. I don't think he'll re-release any old ones, but develop new sculpts, costumes, or incarnations ala the new Hulk mini-busts, which are GORGEOUS!

One of the happiest days of my life! And one of the saddest for my bank account and retirement fund!
