In case some of you didn't know, shout! factory's planning on releasing this for a while, and one of their guys is a frequent poster at the telltale forums. Well, it seems like they're finally done with it:

Well, gang... It's a bittersweet announcement to make, but Sam & Max: Freelance Police!!! The Complete Series is officially done. We shipped off the master DLTs from which the discs will be pressed this morning and the artwork shipped last Friday.

Expect it to hit stores (both retail and internet) in March with an SRP of $29.99. It's three discs, the first of which will contain the 13 episodes and the last disc will be the bonus disc containing:

A COMIC-CONversation With Steve Purcell!!!
3 Animated Shorts Originally Seen on FOX Kids
Sam & Max: Our Bewildering Universe - An original short written and co-directed by Steve Purcell
Telling The Tale Of Telltale Games - A look at Telltale Games with co-founder Dan Connors, design director Dave Grossman and technical artist Daniel Herrera
Sam & Max: Ice Station Santa Playable Demo by Telltale Games
Original Series Bible by Steve Purcell
Original Concept Art Gallery

The slipcase will also have that exclusive sticker.

Thanks for all your help. It's been a blast. I'll definitely still be around up through the release, in case there are any questions or comments.

And with that: Done and...done.

Brian

Also, the cover art drawn by Steve Purcell, for those who haven't seen it yet:

Why in THE HOLY HELL isn't this thread at 1,000+ posts by now with people gushing fourth with their love of this show and anticipation of said DVDs?

For SHAME Bendis board. I once offered my soul to Satan himself for a DVD set of Sam & Max....

I've never seen the Sam and Max show.

Played one of the games though. It was kickass.

This I will rent.

The show is about as hilarious and subversive as you're ever going to see on a cartoon that isn't put out by Adult Swim or Comedy Central (not that I think Comedy Central cartoons are funny, just making a point).

Eh, South Park's not bad.

But that's the only CC cartoon I've seen. Didn't really know they had more.

I will definitely check it out just the same.

There's like Drawn Together and that Lil' Bush show... there's a couple others I think I'm forgetting.

I remember liking this cartoon a lot. I didn't realize it was popular until earlier this year and based off a comic book.

They had to tone down quite a lot of stuff from the original scripts, and the Geek was annoying as all fuck, but I agree that they got away with a lot considering it was network television.

Still, though, how awesome would it be to watch a Sam and Max show completely uncensored on adult swim?

Pure, unadulterated bliss my friend.

Comic = great. Game(s) = greater. Show = crap.

The new games are really bringing the franchise back into the mainstream, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If the DVD sells well, it just may happen.
