Awesome.

I'm so happy to see Diablo Cody get recognition for her Juno script and Ellen Paige for her acting in said movie. Such a tight script and all around great film.

I always remember seeing The National Board of Review as some sort of predictor of the Academy Award for Best picture. Anyone remember what their statistical accuracy is?

It's something like three or four of the five Best Picture nominees are movies on the NBR's Top Ten list... so there's really nothing impressive about it.

Here's a more thorough comparison between th NBR and the Oscars.

So which award is the one that is closest in predicting the Oscars?

So which award is the one that is closest in predicting the Oscars?

It's usually the guild awards that are the closest, since the voting bodies are basically the same as the people that vote for the Oscars.

Gotta say I liked Clooney in Michael Clayton a lot, but best male lead of the year?

I'd have to think though of who I thought was better, ands I guess they covered themselves a bit by giving the "Ensemble" to No Country, but c'mon, could Clooney have pulled off McLovin??

Emile Hirsch had a breakthrough performance in Lords of Dogtown. That movie is highly underrated. His performance was amazing, so was Heath Ledgers.

I've only seen "Michael Clayton" and "No Country" on that list, but both are excellent.

And I'm excited about "Juno." The casting alone is outstanding, IMO.

I don't see why people are so surprised about The Bucket List. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman don't decide to do a Cancer comedy unless they're really impressed. I've been expecting a black comedy about older men dealing with mortality ever since I saw the trailer. Don't be surprised to see an acting or screenplay nod for it.

Although "The Bourne Ultimatum" is a headscratcher. Also, this just might be the death knell for American Gangster's best picture hopes.

A) It's Rob Reiner.

B) It's Rob Reiner.

C) The trailer looks terrible and clichéd.

D) The few people that I've heard of having already seen it didn't have a lot of good things to say about it.

To be fair... Rob Reiner has some awesome movies. Some really bad ones too. But... He has some really fantastic movies.

Yeah, but Rob Reiner's good movies were all written by Aaron Sorkin, William Goldman, Christopher Guest, and Nora Ephron.

And I still need to see all of these movies, and Gone Baby Gone.

Ratatouille should be in the top 10.
