I'm watching CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM Season 1 Episode 6: The Wire and the topic of what's the latest you can call someone.

So what is your phone call cut-off time?

depends on the person.

I will generally call up to 10 to 10:30 pm. there are a few I can call up to 1:00 - 2:00 in the morning.

I can be called at any time, but most assuredly I will not answer between 5:00 am and 9 am. That's when I'm trying to sleep.

I never call anyone after 9 unless they've told me it's OK to do so. And calling our house after 9 is a big no-no since the wife goes to bed around that time.

I don't mind being called anytime. Except if I'm, uh, "taking care of business".
(you know, uh, right bicept exercise time...)

I try not to call people after 9:30 unless its family.

Anyone can call me anytime though. I'm not a big douche like the characters on the show who get all upset about a late phone call.

I have an on call job so, it really doesn't matter when I don't want to be called, I have to answer the phone anyway. Because of that I rarely call anyone between 9pm and 9am.

I'm with Keith except I'd answer the phone from 8AM on. If it is before 8AM or after 9PM I tend to assume it is an emergency.

There're a few people that I'll call up to about 2am...

I generally don't like to hear my phone after midnight.

For calling regular people I'd be hesitant to call much after 9pm.

My sobriety and general mood are the primary factors in taking a call. No set times of day.

If someone calls after 9, I know they don't know me. But if my cell rings after the home phone, then I know it's something important.

I got a phone call last night (after 8 pm, Sunday night) from a telemarketer. To make it even worse, it was from the Kucinich for President campaign. That's like 10 ways of wrong.

And my phone call time gets violated all the time by clients, so it's irrelevant anyway.

Ive had them call me as early as 6am, and as late as midnight.

Oh, we have had some winners.

The ones that call that early and late are also the ones that call you 7 or 8 times a day every day about NOTHING, or asking the same questions over and over again.

I have friends that call me many times for nothing.

FRIEND: So...what's going on?
ME: Oh, nothing. Juuuuuust chillin'
FRIEND: That's cool.

*silence*

FRIEND: So...what's happening?
ME: Nothing. Chilling.
FRIEND: Oh. Well, I'm just calling to see what's going on...

No earlier than 7, no later than 1:15. But exceptions for some people. Like, certain people around these parts who have called me at 4 in the morning.... ;)

General rule: The later in the night, the greater the potential for the phone call. ...until you're in a monogamous relationship.

Generally, if it's after 9 or 10, I send a text message for the person to call me back if they're up.

Did you post that "monogamous relationship" part at first, or did you edit it in? Before I noticed it your post confused the shit out of me. :) But, with it, I totally understand and couldn't agree more.

I'll take a call at any time....except if I don't recognize a phone number (or if I'm in the middle of something).

Whenever. I got used to this when my brother was in college and I would recieve drunken phone calls from him at 2 in the morning.

My phone's on all night. I've gotten some really important calls in the early hours, so I like to have my cell always on.

For me, it's all dependent on the person. I can call some friends at almost any hour, but I also know my limits.

I don't have a phone call cut off time. Mainly because my sleeping habits change from day to day (I do have a mild sleeping disorder...but that's neither here nor there.) I typically won't call someone after 10PM on the fact that I perceive others as thinking of it as rude. However if I know for a fact a person is awake after that time and that they would be ok with me calling after that time period, I will make the exception and call them.

However I'll except calls at any time of day really....unless I'm sleeping...in which I won't answer the phone.

the only phone problem I have and issue with is when people repeatedly call within the span of 5 or 10 minutes over and over. If it's so fucking important that you find the need to repeatedly call until someone picks up...why don't you just leave a message on the answering machine and wait for someone to call you back. I hate people who don't leave messages on answering machines.

I must add also that anyone who calls me after midnight will get my sexy working voice.

I refuse to call anyone after 11pm, with the exceptions being the people I KNOW will be up at that hour (and even then, I'd only call if I had to).

For me, no calls before 12pm, unless it's an emergency, since I tend to work late, and not get to sleep before 6am.

Incoming calls I tend to get upset after midnight. My ex wife will sometimes drunk dial me at 1 or 2 am. I get very irate, and say really nasty things to her, but it's okay because she never remembers the next day.

When my girls were young I wouldn't allow them to have calls after 9:30. My daughter actually had some kid call her at 3 am. He asked for her and I said she couldn't come to the phone but I had a number for him to call. He asked if that was a number for her and I told him it was for a help line cause he had to be fucking crazy to call my house that late.
