I was right, but I'm still Disappointed. Isn't he dead?

No, he has been seen in MTU
Ray G.

No, he has been seen in MTU
Yeah, that bothered me too. Has it ever been explained how he came back from the dead, or are we just supposed to accept that continuity doesn't matter? Maybe it was an evil impostor clone in "Unthinkable".

It wasn't explained yet, I don't read FF series so I'm not sure, but doubt about it.

No, that was an alternate universe Iron Man, I believe.

You're right forgot about that

Furthermore, I believe that Doom is supposed to come back in a Brubaker mini this year.

Oh well, I was going to guess him anyways. "Victor". I mean, come on.

My guess:
That's a Doombot, and Victor is an android.

I don't know the Kristoff story. Could you explain?
Spoiler tag fun!

Might as well name your story arc CHAOS and color all the issues red ;)
The timepiece full of sand seemed another clue. Given the Rama-Tut connections and time travel stuff.
You Killed Hawkeye

"Dr. Doom’s ego convinced him that there should always be a “Dr. Doom” even if the original died. Young Kristoff became Dr. Doom’s ward when his mother was killed while under Dr. Doom’s protection. Kristoff was taken to live in Castle Doom. When Dr. Doom’s Doomsmen robots believed Dr. Doom had been killed by Terrax, they initiated mind-altering procedures that replaced Kristoff’s personality and memories with those of a younger Dr. Doom. This ersatz Dr. Doom II believes he is the real Dr. Doom and the true Doom to be an imposter."
So basically, Dr. Doom Jr.

I loved how the issue had the characters trying to figure out who the parent was, going through the same steps that we went through on the messageboards. I thought that was a clever bit of work on Vaughan's part.
EDIT: And thanks for the info Hawkeye.

I don't think Doom is his dad, I think Kristoff is his father...I know it sounds weird but that's what I'm thinking

do you really think that's who it is?
From the solicit to issue 4:
RUNAWAYS #4
Written by Brian K. Vaughan
Penciled by Adrian Alphona
Cover by Jo Chen
Part 4 (of 6)
Racing back to their new secret hideout beneath the La Brea Tar Pits, the Runaways must decide whether the dangerous Victor Mancha is going to be their first prisoner, or their newest member. Plus, a major Marvel Universe villain shows up claiming to be Vic's father... but is he telling the truth?
So, it could be a trick/red herring.

It's totally a trick...why would it make sense for Victor to get powers from two normal humans? I mean, obviously there are mutants without super-powered parents, but this all just screams "trick" to me.
It's totally a red herring.
The Human Target

I think its a red herring too. I have no fucking clue what really going on, but I don't thaink thats the standard Doom. But I would like to point out that if he is the real Doom, I'm glad BKV writes him as intelligent and well spoken instead of the usual "bow before the mighty mightiness of Doom!" crap you normally see.

No. The best part is if he does act like "The Mighty Doom" and seeing how Brian writes the kid's reactions to it.

Maybe it's the shapeshifter Xorn/Magneto from Morrison's run?

Okay, that would be kinda priceless. I could see Molly starting to talk like that. "Bow before Princess Power and her amazing pals!"

I feel sorry for our merry little gang if they come up against Doom. Maybe Jesus would intervene.

It wouldn't fix my scanner. If I actually drew them, they'd look so good. But I'm going to get a new scanner next weekend when I get paid. Then I'm gonna go get lai... well, I'm going to try.

Just a thought:
Victor Mancha?
Don Quixote was The Man from La Mancha.
I say his father was a windmill.
No, I haven't made it to the LCS yet today.

if it is doom, it could always be one of doom's genetic experiments that ended up in victor's mom

I think the image shown on the last page is of Victor's father.
However, i don't think he's who he appears to be.
Why? because BKV wouldn't shit on years of continuity like that. Could be a shapeshifter, could be a disguise.
One wacky theory:
The Absorbing Man ran into a Doombot. The Kristoff thing could work, too.

If you knew spanish, you'd know that right before she's zapped, Vic's mom says "Wait, you are not.."
So the guy who shows up isn't vic's dad.
You Killed Hawkeye
05-25-2005, 07:26 PM
Okay, I think we can all clearly say the ending to #4 is a red herring because
Doom is dead, in Hell, with different armor, and to bring back Doom in his regular armor while not even addressing where he could possibly have been all this time since he no longer rules Latveria would be bullshit.

I struggle to believe that Doom would tie Victor's mum to a chair with rope.
