Well, the past few weeks have examined his relationships with everyone, and pulled in the "big bad" for season one. As we know, this season will be coming back next season, and if it stays like this, we could still be seeing it for a while. But, how do you end this season?
Last week's episode saw a few things. Vogler coming in and immediately not liking House. We find out that Cameron has feelings for House, and House denies having them, though that could easily be a lie. And House finds out that Vogler will very easily get rid of the people he cares for, Cuddy and Wilson.
Last night's episode, we figured out that Vogler is doing everthing in his power to rid the hospital of House. Cuddy is desparetly trying to save his job, possibly because she likes him. At the end of the episode, Cuddy reveals that she essentially saved his job, but it will eventually end up causing her her job. Then, at the end of the episode, it's revealed that House has to fire one of the members of his department so that his department can stay.
The previews for next week's episode shows Vogler demanding he fire someone, and a confrontation with Cameron.
Now, here is my theory.
Over the next few weeks, because I think there are only like 7 or so episodes left, we're going to see House get some huge cases. Cases that need four people on them at all time. Or they end up doing more then one case. He talks to Vogler and Cuddy that he just needs more time so that they can save all of these people, or because the cases are becoming more and more complex. But he promises them by a certain date that he will get rid of someone. They agree to give him the extension.
Over the next few weeks, House becomes very very distant with everyone. Vogler is really putting the screws to him, and he's having to deal with Cameron's feelings for him. Now, he either has feelings for Cameron or Cuddy, but we just don't know who yet.
Anyways, over the next few weeks he starts feeling the pressure of having to fire someone. Come the date, they have their final case. It's a doozy and House does everything in his power to save the patient, and is able to. Vogler, Wilson and Cuddy approaches him and his team and wants to know who he is going to fire. His team is shocked by this as they knew nothing about it. He looks at each one of them, and then back at Wilson and Cuddy. And he fires himself and leaves.
Season ends.
The reason for him firing himself? To save everyone he cares about. He's the reason why he has to fire someone. He's the reason why Wilson and Cuddy will eventually lose their jobs. So, instead of hurting everyone else, he decides to leave himself.
But, of course he has to come back.
Season Two begins, with Cameron leading the team now, just the three of them. They're doing well, but they all miss House, and his expertise and leadership. Cuddy and Wilson also miss him too. A few weeks into the show, there comes in a case of lepercy or something that they just don't how to deal with or what it is even. So, they have to call the only person they know that can fix.
House.
House comes back and treats it, and he's offered his old job back. He takes it, with a few strings attached where Vogler can't touch him, his department, and Wilson and Cuddy. They agree.
And Season Two is well underway with House back in the forefront.
