I just bought a HDTV ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8274379&type=product&id=1171058028982 ), but the picture doesn't looks that great. I don't have any digital cable or HDTV cable yet. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

IF you don't have a high definition source (HD-DVD, XBOX360, Digital High-def cable, high-def broadcast tv, etc) there's no reason to have a high definition tv.

it won't make standard def look any better.

There are over the air HD broadcasts...but the plan is to get HD cable soon...but I couldn't resist the price.

I didn't know if anyone had any ideas other than that to make the picture look better..I guess I am going to have to play with the tint, sharpness, etc...

Some DVDs come with a picture tuning guide. For example, my copy of The Incredibles" has it as a special feature. You could try that. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure these tuning guides are sold on DVD elsewhere.

Go spend 20 bucks on an over the air antenna if you have a built in tuner.

Standard definition actually looks worse on most HDTVs than on your old CRT. This is because of the HDTV has to extrapolate the data of low quality standard definition to a higher screen resolution.

Try to switch your viewing mode to 4:9 or 16:9, etc

Standard broadcasts just look like shit on a HD set. As said before, get an antenna or an upscaling DVD player to take advantage of what the set can do.
