I dunno, it's not hard to make a guy with the right complexion look like a Vulcan. The makeup guys did a good job, I guess. They've been making Vulcans for coming up on 40 years though.
I want to like this movie, and I eagerly await some good news. I'm just not terribly impressed by a bowl cut and pointy ears on the guy who plays Spock. Even Michael Bay would probably get that much detail right.
I dunno, it's not hard to make a guy with the right complexion look like a Vulcan. The makeup guys did a good job, I guess. They've been making Vulcans for coming up on 40 years though.

I guess so. Did you think Quinto was a good choice before you saw pics?
He looked like he would play a good young Nimoy before it was even announced, imo.

I haven't seen the guy in anything. (He was in Heroes, right? I only caught the first part of season 1.) I've been pleased with all the other casting choices, so I'm thinking they probably know what they're doing here as well.
These pictures make me want to rock out with my Spock out.

Agreed.
Female Keanu as Spock's mom, less so. But I'm willing to see what happens.
I'm not trying to crap on anyone's fun or anything. It's cool people are getting excited over this. I was just pointing out that I, personally, don't find a little Vulcan makeup all that exciting. Show me a clip with the guy acting, or show him on the bridge of the Enterprise and I'll probably start getting Trekkie wood.
