I pronounce it LuthOR but some Luther. I just saw my first episode of Smallville and it seems that it is pronounced Luther there and that was how it was pronounced for the most part in the Superman movie I think.

I am curious as to how you guys and gals pronounce it to see where I stand. Is it pronounced LuthOR by the comic book fans and the outside world say it the other way, or is it just me.

Luthor. Because that's how it's spelled.

The most powerful destructive force in the two universes doesn't need a last name.

maybe he does not need it but he has one, and he is more known by the last name than by his first.

I don't give a shit, but I don't really feel that way. Did I ruin the poll?

sure, but its not like this is earth shattering stuff so the universe and or lives should continue on pace.

Plus it not look like your votes woul have changed the pattern enough to matter.

I don't even like Superman, but I pronounce it LuthOR. Maybe that's because I'm married to a DC, and even though I'm a Marvel, I respect HIS pronunciation of the name.

I pronounce it "Luther," but I think it really should be "Luthor."

I think this is me too. I've never really thought about it before. Isn't that how it's pronounced in the Christopher Reeves movies?

it's quite simple.

Backwards Earth Luthor is Ruthol.

If you pronounce Ruthol backwards it's Luthor.

Hence... LuTHOR!

They're inconsistent. Ned Beatty says it almost exaggeratedly like it's spelled. Hackman refers to himself as LuthOR as well. But other characters say it the other way.

It seems that outside of comic people everyone says it wrong to me. maybe they cause they are tv people and don't know how to read properly.
